    摘要: The described compounds of the general formula A, in which the wavy lines mean .alpha. and .beta. configuration and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 mean hydrogen, methyl or ethyl groups ##STR1## are new and useful as odorants or components or mixtures of odorants or perfume oils. Their production in a method known per se, involves oxidation of isolongifolene obtained from longifolene to isolongifolane, which is then equilibrated with base extraction and/or reduced to isolongifolan-3-ol and this is then reacted with a symmetric acetal of the formula R.sub.2 --OCHR.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2, in which R.sub.1 is hydrogen or methyl and R.sub.2 is methyl, ethyl or propyl.

    摘要: Two associated air treatment compositions are formulated such that when used together they produce a constant emanating composition throughout the life of an air treatment dispenser of the wick type (dispenser). Composition I comprises components (at least two active agents) in their respective intended concentrations and is used to impregnate the evaporation surface and/or wick of the dispenser. Composition II comprises the same components (at least the same two active agents) as the first composition. However, the concentrations of the components in Composition II with respect to Composition I are adjusted such that a constant emanating composition is maintained. The relationship between Composition I and II can be described by equation ##EQU1## where ##EQU2## is composition II and ##EQU3## is composition I. Coefficients c.sub.i can be calculated based on quantitative analysis of composition I and II by means known in the art. Composition II serves as a replenishing fluid, typically provided in a reservoir, with which the wick is in contact.

    摘要: The process for preparing 1-functional allyl alcohol carboxylic esters comprises reacting a 3-functional allyl alcohol with the anhydride of the carboxylic acid at temperatures above 100.degree. C. in the presence of metal compounds of transition groups V to VII, namely at temperatures of 100-200.degree. C., preferably 130-150.degree. C. As metal compounds, it is possible to use oxidic metal compounds in the highest or at least second highest oxidation state of the transition metals, for example tungstic acid or its salts and/or tungsten(VI) oxide and/or molybdenum(V) oxide and/or molybdenum(VI) oxide and/or rhenium(VII) oxide. The 3-functional allyl alcohol and the carboxylic anhydride are advantageously used in equimolar amounts, if desired with a slight excess of anhydride, and an alkali metal salt of a weak acid, for example sodium carbonate or sodium acetate, can be added to the reaction mixture in an amount sufficient to trap free protons.
