    摘要: The present invention involves an ink for transferring a printed image from a membrane to a substrate. The ink comprises a hydrocarbon solvent, a synthetic resin, and a thixotrope for forming a thixotropic network in the ink. The hydrocarbon solvent has a predetermined evaporation rate and the thixotropic network of the ink has a thixotropic network magnitude of between about 3×104 and 6×105 dynes/cm2-sec−1 and a thixotropic network strength of at least about 35.0 gm-cm.

    摘要: A screen printing apparatus for printing images onto a three dimensional surface of a substrate. The apparatus includes a screen formed of a flexible mesh material and having porous image portions that allows passage of a printing medium through it. A shaping assembly including a plurality of shapers that are movable between retracted and extended positions. In their extended positions, the shapers are engaged with the screen assembly and generally cause screen to generally conform to the three dimensional surface of the substrate. A squeegee, that is flexible and conformable to the three dimensional surface, is drawn along screen and forces at least some of the printing medium through the porous portion of the screen and onto the three dimensional surface.

    摘要: A plastic glazing system having weatherable coating for automotive windows is disclosed. The system comprises a transparent plastic substrate comprising an inner surface and an outer surface. The system further comprises a first weathering layer disposed on the outer surface of the substrate. The weathering layer comprises one of a polyurethane and a polyurethane-acrylate. The first weathering layer has a predetermined glass transition temperature. The system further comprises a first abrasion-resistant layer disposed on the first weathering layer. The first abrasion-resistant layer is compatible with the one of a polyurethane and a polyurethane-acrylate.

    摘要: A system to coat a substrate includes a deposition chamber maintained at sub-atmospheric pressure, one or more arrays containing two or more expanding thermal plasma sources associated with the deposition chamber, and at least one injector containing orifices for each array. The substrate is positioned in the deposition chamber and each expanding thermal plasma source produces a plasma jet with a central axis, while the injector injects vaporized reagents into the plasma to form a coating that is deposited on the substrate. The injector orifices are located within a specified distance from the expanding thermal plasma source to obtain generally a coating with generally uniform coating properties.
