    摘要: The eavestroughing system uses hidden hooks in combination with a particular evestrough which allows the effective placement of a leaf screen within the eavestroughing system. The leaf screen is engaged either side thereof in a simple manner, allowing convenient ease of insertion of the screen within the eavestroughing system and in a predetermined orientation. The eavestrough section cooperates with the hanger to provide support for the screen adjacent a forward edge of the screen and also serves to hide the forward edge of the screen within the eavestrough section. The preferred orientation of the screen advantageously is disposed at a downwardly extending angle to the forward edge of the eavestrough to encourage the movement of debris across the screen towards the forward edge where it can easily be removed by the end user and/or removed by natural causes. This natural tendency to move the debris across the screen reduces accumulation of debris on the screen. Furthermore, the particular support arrangement has higher support adjacent the forward edge and therefore, if there is any accumulation, there is better support for the screen at this position. The present system provides a simple and convenient arrangement for a fully integrated plastic eavestroughing system.

    摘要: An eavestrough system utilizes a two-piece hook wherein a small clip is positioned and secured on a fascia and thereafter assembled eavestroughing and eavestrough hooks are conveniently attached thereto, preferably by means of a sliding snap fit relationship. The eavestrough hooks are slidable on the eavestrough section and can be preassembled on the eavestrough at ground level. This, in combination with the fast engagement with the clips, simplifies installation. The invention is also directed to an improved eavestrough hanger having resilient spring arms.

    摘要: A corrosion resistant insert of the present invention is used for fitting at an opening in a metallic liquid tank. The insert has an open end, a radially outwardly extending lip at the open end, a closed end and an axially extending side wall spacing the open end and closed ends from one another. The closed end has a displaceable portion secured to the insert in a preweakened manner which facilitates opening in one direction while resisting opening in the other direction. The use of the insert in the tank enables lining and then pressure testing of the tank ready for fittings after which the closed end of the insert is opened to allow liquid flow through the tank when the tank is in use.

    摘要: A direct vent gas fireplace is provided with a heat shield forming a combustion air expansion and distribution chamber covering a substantial portion of the upper surface of the firebox enclosure and having a circular combustion air inlet opening in its upper surface and being in communication with the lower portion of the firebox, and the products of combustion from the firebox are directed out of the fireplace through a pipe extending through the upper enclosure surface and out through the combustion air inlet opening in the heat shield with the axis of the pipe being offset from the center of the inlet opening so that when a combustion air inlet duct is sleeved over the pipe and connected to the inlet opening a portion of the combustion air path between the pipe and duct which feeds into the combustion air expansion and distribution chamber is substantially widened to provide space for the combustion air to expand outwardly rather than backing up the combustion air duct. In its preferred form, the firebox and its enclosure have sloping upper surfaces sloping downwardly to the rear and the heat shield and combustion air expansion and distribution chamber is in the form of an inverted pan overlying and substantially covering the sloping enclosure surface.

    摘要: A termination device for a through the wall connection to the double walled coaxial ducting of a horizontal direct vented gas fireplace or the like comprising a mounting means having an opening therethrough for mounting said device on the exterior of a wall having a passage therethrough with the opening registering with the passage, a first pipe adapted for connection with the outer of the coaxial ducts secured to the mounting means and projecting inwardly thereof and adapted to extend through the wall passage, deflector means supported in spaced relation outwardly from the mouth of the first pipe and presenting an air deflecting surface formation surrounding and sloping inwardly towards the mouth of the first pipe to a central opening in substantially coaxial relation with but spaced from the first pipe, said air deflecting surface formation being adapted to deflect air inwardly into the first pipe, a second pipe adapted for connection with the inner of the coaxial ducts extending from an outer end located on the outer side of the deflecting surface formation inwardly through the deflector surface central opening and through the first pipe, means being provided to bar the entrance of foreign objects into the mouth of the first pipe while permitting airflow therethrough, and protective means surrounding the outer end of the second pipe being provided to bar access thereto while permitting escape of exhaust fumes. Preferably the outer end of the second pipe terminates in a cap having a series of peripheral openings therearound and the means surrounding the second pipe comprises a generally spherical chamber having a central band of screening for outletting exhaust products, the inner portion of the chamber facing the mounting plate constituting the air deflecting surface formation.
