摘要： A corrosion inhibiting primer for metal pieces which need not be removed prior to welding the pieces includes an alkali metal silicate binder having a silicone wetting agent incorporated therewith, a powder metal and an oxygen scavenger. The primer can be sprayed onto the metal. Zero porosity welds can be achieved up to speeds of about 750 mms/sec. by welding through the primer.
