    摘要: Taconite fines are pelletized by adding to the taconite 2 to 4 percent by weight of a double salt of potash-magnesia, preferably dissolved in an amount of water equivalent to about 10 to 15 percent by weight of the taconite. The resulting mass is mixed and formed into pellets by granulation or briquetting techniques. The pellets are allowed to cure and then dry to a water content of about 1 to 2 percent.

Both the concentrate from the gravity separation which is comminuted to liberate mineral constituents and the minus 1/4 inch to 4 mesh fraction from the initial sizing are subjected to gravity beneficiation.

    摘要: Refractory linings of metallurgical vessels, such as a tundish lined with alumina brick, are protected from the destructive effects of molten metal, skull, and skull removal by applying a coating of special refractory parting composition to the metalcontacting interior surfaces of the refractory lining. The coating is applied after skull removal and prior to returning the vessel to service. The special refractory parting composition consisting of a mixture of chrome ore, periclase, and a magnesium salt, and the particle size distribution are compounded to adhere to the solidified metal of the skull, to be non-adherent to the refractory lining, and to crumble on skull removal to the extent necessary to prevent injury to the refractory lining.

The two sections of the block are held in abutting relationship to form a boundary extending from the inner radial wall of the converter to an outer radial wall. The sections are restrained against relative radial movement by providing a depression in the boundary surface of the tuyere containing section and a complementary protuberance in the boundary surface of the other section.
