摘要: A protective carrier for holding a loaded spare magazine in a position of readiness for immediate insertion into operative engagement with a firearm. A latch mechanism in the carrier is operable simultaneously with and in response to release of the magazine retaining catch mechanism of the firearm, permitting an empty magazine and a loaded spare magazine to be released together, the empty magazine being allowed to fall clear of the firearm while the loaded spare magazine is grasped and inserted into the firearm for use in a minimum amount of time. The spare magazine carrier of the invention protectively surrounds the open upper end of the spare magazine to shield cartridges held therein against contamination by dirt, mud, and the elements, in order to help avoid malfunction or damage of the firearm. A control device extender is provided to operate a bolt catch lever of a rifle which may be covered by the spare magazine carrier.

摘要: An apparatus for sorting and stacking thin rigid plates, such as used in storage batteries, receives the plates horizontally in spaced-apart groups, transports the groups horizontally and deposits them into stacks on a stacking apparatus that orients them vertically and delivers them for further processing. The groups of plates are carried on a conveyor system having chains that are spaced further apart than the width of the plates. Opposed pads extending inwardly from the chains engage the edges of the plates. Each pad has a length approximately equal to the height of the plates and is separated from each adjacent pad by a distance that is greater than the height of the plates. Stops located between the chains contact the groups of plates and prevent their continued movement with the chains thus causing them to drop between adjacent pads and off of the conveyor. In a preferred embodiment the apparatus includes a collection system that causes every group of plates in a stack to drop the same distance. Also, in a preferred embodiment, at least some groups of plates in each stack are displaced onto a transfer conveyor, that operates at a lower speed than the main conveyor, before they reach the stacking apparatus. Thus, there is more time between the arrival of groups of plates at the stacking apparatus, which permits the just formed stack to be advanced without interference from the first group of the next stack.

摘要: A holder for releasable securement of cartridges in condition for simultaneous loading of the cartridges into the chambers of a revolver's cylinder. The holder comprises the cylindrical body, having a plurality of axially extending, radially distributed cartridge-receiving bores adapted to align with and introduce the rounds into the revolver's cylinder chambers. The holder also includes a locking device which holds the cartridges by the rims of the cartridges, and this locking device can be released automatically as the cartridges are introduced into the chambers of the revolver. A free rotating sleeve allows the rotation of the holder such that the cartridges slide easily into the revolver. A plurality of legs attached to the holder allow for positioning the holder in proper alignment with the revolver's cylinder without touching projections of the revolving cylinder or the revolver itself.

摘要: An assembly for fastening a sling to the front portion of a military rifle or other shoulder weapon in an orientation facilitating carrying such a weapon at the carrier's side in an upright orientation, with the longitudinal axis of the weapon generally horizontal. A main body includes a forked end which fits on a bayonet lug and a bored opposite end which can be attached in a sling swivel mounting position on the weapon. A rotatable pedestal holds a sling swivel on one side of the weapon, where it is rotatable and pivotable about different axes. A second sling swivel can also be installed to one form of the assembly in the conventional military orientation. The construction of the assembly can be integrated into the structure of a front sight assembly.

摘要: An improvement for retaining sling swivels on a firearm where web or narrow fabric is used in place of cord. Holes in an outer retaining piece and an inner cushioning piece can be of any shape. An extending projection may be used in the holes to conform the web or narrow fabric to the openings in the sling swivel. In another embodiment, a wire may be enclosed in a closed web loop. A tab, which is folded and stitched, is formed adjacent to an outer retaining piece.

摘要: A safety device for use with a repeating firearm having a magazine well for holding a box-like removable magazine, to prevent the firearm from being fired unintentionally and for providing an indication visible at some distance that the firearm is in a safe condition. A main body of the device corresponds in size with the magazine for the weapon and includes a top portion which extends into the space left open between the breech and the face of the bolt of the weapon when the bolt is withdrawn. A plunger slidably disposed within the main body is connected with a movable chamber probe which would be prevented from entering the chamber by a round of ammunition, and which prevents the plunger from being moved to a position latching the device in the firearm unless the probe is able to enter the firing chamber. Visible exposure of more than a predetermined portion of the safety device indicates that the safety device is not properly installed in the weapon and that the weapon is therefore not to be considered safe.

摘要: A sling swivel for removably attaching a sling of flat webbing or other strap material to a rifle or other firearm includes a loop member for receiving the webbing. The loop has a neck extending away from one side. A pivotable shaft carrying a movable link member extends through the neck and is spring-biased to urge the movable link toward the neck. A mounting pin is mounted on one end of the movable link member and is slidably receivable in a hole associated with the neck or a fixed link member. Moving the movable link from its normal position allows the mounting pin to be placed through an eye on a rifle, to attach the swivel to the rifle. The spring-biased pivotable shaft mounting pin is received within the hole. A stop extending from the neck, alongside the movable link, protects the movable link against being pushed away from the neck by an eye of a rifle on which the swivel may be mounted. The loop and neck are preferably of fiber reinforced plastic material, and a fixed link including the hole for the mounting pin is attached to the neck by a rivet whose head protrudes on the side of the neck where the movable link is located. The movable link includes a hole which receives the head of the rivet which connects the fixed link to the opposite side of the neck. The end of the pivotable shaft opposite the movable link may be recessed to help prevent inadvertent release of the swivel from a rifle.

摘要: Structure for electrically interconnecting a lead of an integrated circuit device to a terminal spaced at a distance from the lead. The apparatus includes a housing which is intermediate the lead and the terminal. The housing has a slot to receive one of each of the one or more contacts. A contact-receiving slot extends substantially parallel to an axis which extends between a corresponding integrated circuit lead and terminal. The housing further includes oppositely facing first and second surfaces. The first surface has a trough formed therein proximate the integrated circuit lead, and the second surface has a trough formed therein proximate the spaced terminal. A first elastomeric element is received in the trough formed in the first surface, and a second elastomeric element is received in the trough formed in the second surface. The first and second elastomeric elements have a measure of compressibility and tensile extendability. A generally planar contact is received within each slot. Each contact provided has a protrusion which extends outward from the first surface of the housing to be engaged by the integrated circuit lead to which it corresponds. Each contact also has a nub which extends outward from the second surface to engage the corresponding spaced terminal. Each contact also has first and second hook portions, the first hook portion being disposed proximate the contact protrusion and encircling the first elastomeric element to hold the contact to the first elastomeric element, the second hook portion being disposed proximate the contact nub and encircling the second being disposed proximate the contact nub and encircling the second elastomeric element to hold the contact to the second elastomeric element.
