摘要： Embodiments described herein are directed to a contact avoidance system for preventing epidemics. A database maintains a record for each person enrolled in the system. The record comprises a risk level identifier that indicates a disease infection risk for the user. When devices carried by users are proximate to each other, the devices exchange identifiers that uniquely and anonymously identify the users. At least one device provides the identifier received thereby to the database, which retrieves the record associated with the identifier and determines a risk level for the user associated with the identifier. The risk level is returned to the device, which issues an alert if the risk level indicates that the other user is or may be infected with a disease. The database also updates the risk level associated with users that were determined to be proximate to a user determined to be infected with the disease.

Randomized identifiers for RFID tags associated with products for sale are read by readers of user devices having their own randomized identifiers. Information relating to the products is provided to the user devices by information retrieval systems without exposing information related to the user device or a user thereof. Information security is provided through the use of the randomized identifiers that act as proxies or surrogates for users and user devices. Based on the products and associated RFID tags read by the user device, a retailer or manufacturer provides targeted advertising and sales incentives to the user device through the information retrieval system.

摘要： Embodiments described herein are directed to the manufacturing of tag devices, authenticating such devices, authorizing a tag reader apparatus to read tag devices external to the tag reader apparatus, and enabling an authorized tag reader apparatus to form a secured network comprising a plurality of devices, each of which comprise a tag device. The secured network may be formed by simply reading tag devices associated with consumer devices that a user desires to be in the secured network using the authorized tag reader apparatus. The random identification numbers associated with the plurality of consumer devices' tag devices may be used to retrieve instructions that are implemented by the consumer device(s) to form/configure the secured network. The authorized tag reader apparatus is the only device that is enabled to subsequently configure/reconfigure the network and/or the devices included therein, thereby securing the network for use only by the authorized tag reader apparatus.
