摘要： An ambient air-to-engine fluid heat exchanger, vehicle having independent ambient air modulators are provided for both the radiator and the charge air cooler in the form of an apertured plate mounted adjacent the face of the heat exchanger and controllably slidable to bring the plate apertures in registry with the ambient air openings of the heat exchanger. For the heat exchanger for engine coolant, the front face of the heat exchanger comprises a second plate having the heat exchanger ambient air openings therein. For the charge air cooler, a second plate is unnecessary because, in an air-to-air heat exchanger, the charge air tubes are about the same width as the ambient air passages and thus the tubes can block the air flow through the modulator apertures when the plate is positioned to do so. The modulator plate is further preferably provided with integral louver portions between the apertures for channelling and streamlining the ambient air flow into the apertures and heat exchanger.

A novel hinge construction at the juncture region between the two sections allows the hinged door section to be freely swung between its raised and lowered positions and also, when desired, to be lifted from its supported relationship relative to the fixed section for complete removal from the combine, thereby establishing an increased working area for grain pan removal or for purposes of repair or replacement.

摘要： An over-center toggle mounting for a moldboard plow unit embodying a spring trip mechanism having a pair of rigid toggle elements one of which is pivoted to the plow shank and the other of which is pivoted to a leaf spring on the plow frame. Cooperating abutment stops effective between one of the toggle elements and the plow frame determine the over-center position of the toggle arrangement, and consequently the normal operating earthworking position of the plow unit. The principle function of these abutment stops is to provide a pivot fulcrum to cause the toggle to release from its over-center position when the leaf spring flexes downward and forward. Rearward pressure against the plow unit results in compression and forward endwise shifting of the rigid over-center toggle arrangement, thus flexing the leaf spring in direct proportion to the magnitude of the applied plow pressure. When such pressure exeeds a predetermined maximum, the leaf spring is flexed to such a degree that the over-center condition of the toggle arrangement is positively relieved, the mechanism is tripped and the plow unit is released from its earthworking position for rearward and upward displacement incident to forward movement of the plow frame. In a modified form of the spring trip mechanism, the leaf spring is replaced by a compression spring. In either form, restoration of the plow unit to its earthworking position may be accomplished by raising the plow frame or by reversing the direction of plow movement.

摘要： An axial flow combine of the type embodying threshing and separating means in the form of a generally cylindrical casing within which a vaned rotor operates and which defines a threshing region and a separating region. Helical impeller vanes on the forward end of the rotor impel the crop material rearwardly into the threshing region for conduction therethrough and from thence into and through the separating region. To enhance the capacity of the casing and rotor to handle crop material, a pair of transverse sheets which extend at a slight angle to each other so that one sheet is slanted in one direction relative to the rotor axis and the other sheet is slanted in the opposite direction, cooperate to establish, in effect a front wall for the casing. These sheets cooperate with the rotating impeller vanes to receive the backlash material which issues from the impeller and direct it forwardly into the working region of the latter.
