Abstract:
A tool assembly includes an elongated handle and a locking system for attaching a tool head to the handle. The tool head can be a floor care tool or other accessory that can be attached to the handle such that the elongated length of the handle can aid in the use of the tool attached. The locking system includes a keyed locking collar for engaging at least a first portion of the tool head, and a locking cap rotatably positioned on the handle for engaging a second portion of the tool head. The handle can be extendable, such as by telescoping, and can also be overmolded.
Abstract:
A rotary shaft coupling (10) for the drive-line of a vehicle includes a female component (11) of a propeller shaft (41) and a male component (12) of a drive axial pinion (42). The components have mutually engageable splines (14, 15) and circular regions (23, 25, 24, 26) drawn into engagement by a clamp nut (16) of the male component; the circular regions are a sliding or an interference fit. The clamp nut (16) may also be used to draw the components (11, 12) apart.
Abstract:
A wiper arm for supporting a wiper blade includes a wiper arm head comprises a recessed splined cup portion having a plurality of angularly adjacent teeth about the internal circumference of the cup portion wherein the cup portion includes a slot. A complementary drive shaft includes a splined head having teeth for mating engagement with the teeth in the wiper arm head. In order to facilitate the alignment therebetween, an integral alignment key is received in the axially aligned slots. The alignment key further includes a lower notched end which abuts against a bottom radial lip of the splined head to prevent the key from moving axially in the slots. As such, the key and the splined head include complementary formations preventing the key from accidentally falling out of the slots.
Abstract:
A vehicle includes a first drivetrain component and a second drivetrain component. The first drivetrain component defines a splined orifice. The second drivetrain component has a shaft that includes splines that are configured to clearance-fit the splined orifice upon engagement up to a first length and interference-fit the splined orifice upon engagement beyond the first length. Engagement of the splines and the splined orifice at substantially the first length counteracts loads perpendicular to an axis of the shaft preventing disengagement of the first and second drivetrain components.
Abstract:
A powertrain mechanism (10) in order to transfer the power, received from the engine, to the gearbox in vehicles having internal combustion engine and comprising at least one drive plate (70) and at least one connection hub (30) having an assembly section (40) placed into at least one assembly opening (71) provided in vicinity of the center of the drive plate (70). As an improvement, the subject matter powertrain mechanism (10) comprises at least one movement gap (90) provided between at least one protrusion upper section (51) defined at the uppermost section of at least one protrusion (50) provided mutually on inner wall (72) of the assembly opening (71) and on outer wall (41) of the assembly section (40), and at least one recess base (61) defined at the lowermost section of at least one recess (60) wherein the protrusion (50) is at least partially placed.
Abstract:
A coupling shaft assembly system is disclosed. A coupling shaft assembly system may have a coupling shaft spline lock body having spline lock spline teeth, a main coupling shaft body having input spline teeth, and a locking bolt, wherein the locking bolt retains the coupling shaft spline lock body in substantially fixed communication with the main coupling shaft body, wherein the coupling shaft spline lock body retains the coupling shaft assembly system in mechanical communication with a power shaft. In this manner, a coupling shaft assembly system may reduce the axial forces transferred by the coupling shaft assembly system.

Abstract:
An inner race and boot sleeve combination is provided. The inner race has an inner surface with a groove formed therein. The boot sleeve has a groove in an outer surface. A ring is located in both grooves to axially secure the inner race and boot sleeve together. Devices to prevent relatively rotation between the inner race and the boot sleeve are also provided.

Abstract:
A rotational assembly comprises a first shaft having a plurality of circumferentially arranged axially extending outer splines on an outer surface thereof and a second shaft having a plurality of circumferentially arranged axially extending inner splines on an inner surface of an axially extending shaft recess. The first shaft is located with the shaft recess such that the outer splines are engaged with the inner splines. At least one biasing element is also provided which is arranged to rotationally bias the first and second shafts towards one another such that the driving faces of the inner and outer splines are forced together.
