摘要: A multi-section mattress or mattress overlay including a first generally rectangular section made from a first honeycomb core having a first core face and a second core face, the first core having a first facing sheet bonded to one of the first and second core faces, a second generally rectangular section made from a second honeycomb core having a third core face and a fourth core face, the second core having a second facing sheet bonded to one of the third and fourth core faces, the second section being positioned with one side thereof immediately adjacent an opposing side of the first section; and a seam joining the first and second sections together along the lengths of the one side and the opposing side, the seam being formed by bonding a portion of the first face extending along the one side to a portion of the third face extending along the opposing side, and by orienting the bonded portions of the first and third faces such that they extend away from a plane including the first and third faces and toward a plane including the second and fourth faces.

摘要: An adjustable anatomical support and seat cushion apparatus for wheelchairs and the like, including a resilient, cellular thermoplastic honeycomb seat cushion member and a pivotally attached base member forming a planar base upon which the cushion member will rest when folded about the attaching pivot to engage and lay thereupon. Positioned upon and secured to the base member and disposed between it and the overlying cushion member, are user or therapist positionable, prescriptively sized and shaped pelvic obliquity elements, pommel elements and/or wedge elements operative to deform the cushion member when engaged with the bottom thereof. The assembly of components is contained within a suitable fabric cover envelope.

摘要: Ballistic resistant armor material and assembly including a thin, rigid armor component for stopping and capturing ballistic projectiles, backed by a resilient component formed of thermoplastic elastomeric honeycomb material for absorbing projectile strike energy and reducing impact noise and/or blunt trauma injury. The armor component includes multiple layers of high tensile strength aramid fabric or the like sandwiched between front and back plates made of multiple layers of woven carbon cloth impregnated with an epoxy resin or the like. The several layers of the armor component are formed and compressed to provide a rigid outer shell that can advantageously be configured as planar or shaped to suit particular applications. The resilient component is affixed to the inside surface of the armor component and may include one or more layers of flexible honeycomb material having cells that are open, hermetically sealed, or perforated to provide fluid circulation therethrough.

The base member is pivotally attached to the cushion member. The cushion member is rotatable between a non-parallel disposition and a parallel disposition relative to the base member. An open end of the pocket faces the base member when the cushion member is in the parallel disposition.

The first honeycomb core includes unsealed cells that have walls with perforations. The bottom layer includes a second honeycomb core that includes sealed cells.
