摘要: A hybrid disk drive transfers a data stream to or from a host at an increased data transfer rate by time-multiplexing the data-carrying capacity of the system bus connecting the host and the disk drive. A portion of the data stream is stored on a non-volatile solid state memory device in the disk drive and a portion is written to a magnetic storage disk. The portion of the data stream written to the storage disk may be written on data tracks that are separated by empty data tracks corresponding to the data stored in the non-volatile solid state memory device.

摘要: A method of determining defects on a media of an information storage device includes reading information representing data from a magnetized portion of the media, processing the read signal with discrete time signal processing, and detecting a phase shift in the read signal over a selected threshold. The method also includes sending an indication of a defect in the media in response to detecting the phase shift over the selected threshold, determining the location of the media of the defect, and storing the location of the defect in memory.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a stream reproducing method comprises a rewriting and decoding operation. First, a time stamp value added to transport stream (TS) packet in a time stamped transport stream is rewritten. The rewritten time stamp value now is synchronous with a program clock reference (PCR) value. Next, the TS packet is output in a synchronous time stamped transport stream based on a comparison between count values produced by a first counter counting clocks generated by a clock oscillator and the rewritten time stamp value of the TS packet in the synchronous time stamped transport stream. Thereafter, the TS packet is decoded according to a count in a second counter counting the clocks generated by the clock oscillator.

摘要: A method of wireless communication includes establishing a wireless connection with a first access point via a wireless protocol in a first sub-network by a wireless electronic device. A network address is assigned to the wireless electronic device having a telephone address. The wireless electronic device roams from the first sub-network to a second sub-network. The wireless connection is automatically disconnected with the first access point, and the wireless connection is seamlessly established with a second access point in the second sub-network. A new network address is assigned to the wireless electronic device at the second sub-network. Alternatively the network address is still assigned to the wireless electronic device at the second sub-network.

摘要: A computer telephony server for simultaneously implementing a plurality of messaging applications is provided. The server includes a processor, a memory and a plurality of slots connected to the processor through a high-speed bus, each of the plurality of slots being adapted to receive an interface card for connecting the server to an external resource. A plurality of primary sessions are provided, each of which have a first thread of execution on the processor and control a first subset of the memory and at least one external resource. A plurality of secondary sessions, each corresponding to one of the primary sessions, is also provided. Each secondary session has a second thread of execution on the processor and controls a second subset of the memory. The primary session delegates a set of system resources to its corresponding secondary session and monitors the secondary session's behavior. In addition, the primary session operates to recover the set of system resources delegated to the secondary session upon the termination of the secondary session.
