    摘要: A device of the present invention incorporates a data block, received from a Communication Module (CM) connected via an interface, into a frame of a specific format in which a preamble for data synchronization is placed at a head, and transmits the frame to the bus while taking only a data block formed in compliance with an arbitrary Communication Protocol (CP) from a series of frames of the specific format that are constituted from signals detected from the bus. When transmitting data to the bus, the device inserts a code indicating the arbitrary CP into a head part of the preamble, and when a signal corresponding to the head part of the preamble detected from the bus is identified as the code indicating the arbitrary CP, it takes a frame with the identified code to transfer a data block within the taken frame to the CM through the interface.

    摘要: A pneumatic nut installation tool has a plunger assembly which advances from a retracted position near the rear of the tool through a nut pickup station to an extended position extending from the front of the tool. A nut shuttle delivers a nut in front of the plunger assembly before it reaches the nut pickup station and retracts away from the nut pickup station before the plunger assembly moves through that station. The nut is picked up on an assembly that includes a split spring ring which engages the bore of the nut. The spring ring is mounted on a fixed member, which also includes a hexagonal key for preventing rotation of a bolt as the nut is threaded onto it. A rotating nut driver moves over the outside of the nut picked up by the nut pickup assembly for threading the nut onto a bolt.

    摘要: A locking wedge apparatus for fastening a printed circuit board within an elongated slot in a rack. The apparatus comprises a first member having an elongated, flexible portion terminating in first and second apertured end portions, the elongated and apertured end portions forming a rectangularly shaped channel. A rectangularly shaped member having a plurality of ramps formed along the edges of one surface is positioned in a U-shaped member having a plurality of ramps extending from the bottom wall thereof such that the ramps on each member are in engagement. The assembled U-shaped and rectangularly shaped members are positioned in the channel formed in the first member. A screw member extends lengthwise through said first apertured end portion, through a threaded aperture in said rectangularly shaped member and into said second apertured end portion. Rotating the screw in a forward direction causes the rectangularly shaped member to move along the ramp surfaces of the U-shaped member in a manner such that the elongated flexible portion of said first member is deflected transversely to lock the printed circuit board in place. The apparatus is designed such that a user can specify a desired side load and the corresponding U-shaped/rectangularly shaped combination selected such that the ramp angle therein provides the desired side load.

    摘要: A method for forming a captive panel fastener assembly, the assembly comprising a bolt having head, shank and threaded outer end portions, slots extending longitudinally down through the bolt threads toward the outer end of the bolt and a retaining ring for securing the bolt to a panel. The metal retaining ring has inwardly tangs which are distanced sufficiently to allow the ring to be slipped over the outer end of the bolt and into the bolt slots. The ends of the slots terminate in abutments. The outer surface of the ring opposite corresponding tabs is provided with outwardly extending alignment tabs. Installation of the retaining ring onto the bolt to form the captive panel fastener is accomplished by first placing the ring alignment tabs into cutout portions formed in the nose area of a tool. The tool and ring are then engaged onto the bolt from the outer end by first aligning visual markings formed on the tool jaws with the slots. Force is then applied to the tool to crimp the ring and deform it to an oval shape while forcing the ring tangs into the slots. Since the distance between the installed ring tangs is smaller than the diameter of the slot-end abutments, the ring is prevented from being removed from the bolt slots.

    摘要: A collar threads onto a shear pin. When the collar engages a surface of a workpiece, resistance to further threading increases. When sufficient resistance to threading occurs, a setting driver upsets lobes of the collar and forces these lobes radially inward toward the axis of the collar. Material of the collar inside the lobes responds to deformation of the lobes and flows radially inward against the shear pin to lock the collar, shear pin and workpiece together. The driver then rotates freely and a joint has been made with a predetermined clamp-up load and its component parts locked together.

    摘要: A torque control tool for installing and removing threaded fasteners couples a driven section of the tool with a drive section of the tool through detent balls of the former and a clutch plate of the latter. The clutch plate keys to a stem of the drive section for rotation together and has semi-spherical sockets of substantially the same radius of curvature as the balls receiving the balls and lying on a circle about a rotational axis of the driven section. A carrier plate cages the balls so that they index with the clutch plate sockets and keys to the balance of the driven section to transmit torque to it. Reliefs to the side of each socket and centered on the circle of the sockets permit the detent balls to uncouple from the drive section at an applied installation torque less than the uncoupling torque in the opposite, removal direction. The depth of the reliefs leaves substantial spherically curved walls of the sockets opposing uncoupling torques in the installation direction and, accordingly, the balls can only come out of the sockets abruptly with no preliminary rotational movement between the balls and the socket about the rotational axis of the driven section. An axial compressive force acting between an adjustment cap and Belleville springs on the balls and clutch plate determines the torque at which the driven section uncouples from the drive section. A pressure plate interposes between the balls and the Bellevilles. A stem of the drive section couples to the clutch plate through a keyway that permits relative movement of the clutch plate along the axis of the stem. A thrust bearing between the adjustment cap and the clutch plate minimizes rotational drag. The carrier plate and pressure plate key to a housing of the driven section for relative axial movement with respect thereto but for rotation together.
