Such support assembly includes a bottom ring bearing member supported on an upper surface of a bottom wall portion of a female connection member adjacent an outer end thereof.     摘要: A train approach registry relay at the exit end of the approach track section at a signal location is held normally energized over its own stick contact and releases to register the track circuit detection of an approaching train. The reenergizing circuit, when the train clears the approach section, includes a back contact of the train occupancy registry relay at the entrance end of the advance track section. Thus the train occupancy registration for the approach section is not cleared until the same train is positively detected and registered into the adjoining section. In one form, the approach registry relay is in series in the approach section signal line circuit energized over a front contact of that relay. The line circuit is reenergized, when the section is again clear, over a back contact of the advance section signal line relay. In a coded track circuit form, the approach registry relay is the reverse code decoding relay for the approach section, with its own stick front contact in the capacitor decoding network. This decoding registry relay is then reenergized by a direct circuit over a back contact of the advance section, back contact decoding relay of the master code.

    摘要: This invention relates to an operable skate type of railway car retarder including a plurality of inner and outer levers pivotally supported on the cross ties and physically disposed on opposite sides of a track rail. Each of the inner and outer pivotal levers supports an elongated braking element which is disposed parallel to the track rails. Each of the outer pivotal levers of the car retarder is operated by an actuating mechanism. Each actuating mechanism includes a power operating unit as well as a locking unit. The power operating unit utilizes a fluid piston and cylinder as well as slide piston and guide cylinder to raise the outer lever to cause the braking element to assume a braking position. The locking unit includes a fluid piston and cylinder operating a lock block which engages the slide piston and locks the lever in its braking position or disengages the slide position and releases the lever allowing the retarder to assume its nonbraking position.

    摘要: A separate transmitter source of periodic high voltage pulses is coupled to each approach section rails at the end distant from the permanent shunt across the rails at a railroad crossing. Each pulse transmits a high level oscillating current pulse through the rail loop including the intersecting rail shunt so that similar track currents flow in both approach sections. A single receiver means is coupled to each rail shunt by a separate pickup coil, the output of which is rectified to charge a storage capacitor at an averaged voltage level representative of the amplitude of the current pulses in the corresponding shunt. The voltages stored in both capacitors are applied to the dual inputs of a two channel, vital level detector and logic AND circuit element. An output signal is produced by the level detector and AND circuits only when both inputs are at or above a level representative of an unoccupied section. The output is then applied, through a relay driver circuit, to a vital type track relay to jointly register the occupancy condition of both crossing approaches.

    摘要: An elevator located at the open end of a scraper bowl is rotatable upon a pair of links connecting the upper end of the elevator sidewalls to the bowl sidewalls. A pair of cams resiliently mounted on the bowl sidewalls to extend forwardly and upwardly support one end of a pair of extensible hydraulic cylinders pivotally connected to the bowl sidewalls. The cylinders include rollers as cam followers linked to the extensible end of the cylinders and rotatable upon the supportive cam surfaces. A pair of bowl hoist hydraulic cylinders pivotally connect a draft frame to the bowl near the lower open end of the bowl where a transverse scraper blade is secured. In operation, the bowl hoist cylinders are hydraulically positioned by hydraulic control means to set the position of the blade. The extensible cylinders are hydraulically controlled to position the rollers upon the cam surfaces, thus moving the lower end of the elevator in a predetermined path relative to the blade, i.e., sloping generally upwardly and forwardly.
