摘要: An approach is provided for automatically detecting a merge lane traffic jam. The approach involves, for example, determining a plurality of road links in proximity to a merge point comprising a highway and a ramp. The method also involves processing probe data collected from the plurality of road links to classify the plurality of road links, one or more sublinks of the plurality of road links, or a combination thereof into at least one of a highway upstream class, a merging area class, a highway downstream class, a ramp downstream class, and a ramp upstream class. The method further involves determining vehicle speed data for the highway upstream class, the merging area class, the highway downstream class, the ramp downstream class, the ramp upstream class, or a combination thereof. The method further involves automatically determining an occurrence of the merge lane traffic jam based on the vehicle speed data.

摘要: A solution including a method, a system, and a computer program product are provided herein in accordance with at least one example embodiment for identification of at least one road work extension in a geographical location. The solution includes the process of building and accessing of a map for the geographic location curated with the marking of one or more road work zones corresponding to the at least one road work extensions. The method includes the steps of obtaining multiple speed funnels of a route and validating at least one speed funnel based on the sign value of a last learned speed sign of the speed funnel. The method further generates the road work extension data associated with the road work extension based on the last learned speed sign and a result.

摘要: An approach is provided for assessing safety conditions of a vehicle. The approach, for example, involves aggregating operational data associated with a vehicle from a plurality of data sources. The approach also involves processing the operational data against operational criteria to determine a normal operational status or an abnormal operational status of the vehicle. The approach further involves generating an independent assessment of a safety condition of the vehicle based on the normal operational status or the abnormal operational status. The independent assessment is performed independently of an assessment system of the vehicle, a manufacturer of the vehicle, or a combination thereof. The approach further involves in response to a request by a user to use the vehicle, providing data indicating the safety condition in a user interface of a device associated with the user.

摘要: An approach is provided for generating navigation guidance for incomplete maps. The approach, for example, involves calculating, by a processor, a confidence level of one or more links of the navigation route based on a completeness of map data in an area including the navigation route. The approach also involves determining a specificity level of a navigation guidance command based on the confidence level. The approach further involves generating the navigation guidance command at the determined specificity level. The approach further involves presenting the navigation guidance command in a user interface of a navigation device.

摘要: An approach is provided for an asymmetric evaluation of polygon similarity. The approach, for instance, involves receiving a first polygon representing an object depicted in an image. The approach also involves generating a transformation of the image comprising image elements whose values are based on a respective distance that each image element is from a nearest image element located on a first boundary of the first polygon. The approach further involves determining a subset of the plurality of image elements of the transformation that intersect with a second boundary of a second polygon. The approach further involves calculating a polygon similarity of the second polygon with respect the first polygon based on the values of the subset of image elements normalized to a length of the second boundary of the second polygon.
