摘要: A data connection between a server and an application running on a mobile telephone handset is used to provide caption text of a telephonic conversation between call participants to the mobile phone handset during an active telephone call. Prior to providing the captions, a communication session between the server and the application running on the handset, the means of transporting the caption text is determined. Transport may be by way of data socket connection or by way of SMS messages.

摘要: Members of a social network user's social graph are automatically segregated into overlapping clusters according to patterns of their past communications. Each cluster within the social graph represents a group of members having a high degree of intra-cluster communication or other connection with one another. The clustering is performed according to a sorting or ranking in accordance with non-principal eigenvectors of connectivity matrices describing the intra-cluster communications/connections. The overlapping clusters exhibit maximum internal density and minimum external sparsity.

摘要: A digital certificate associating a unique identifier for a computer-based appliance with an authentication key pair for that appliance is obtained from a certificate authority using a different, manufacturing key pair for the appliance. The manufacturing key pair may be generated by the appliance at or about its time of manufacture. The public key portion of the manufacturing key pair along with the unique identifier for the appliance may be provided via secure means to the certificate authority prior to the request for the digital certificate concerning the authentication key pair. Eventually, the digital certificate associated with the authentication key pair may be used by the appliance when joining a network, as part of a one-way or two-way authentication process.

摘要: Methods of using in situ finishing information for finishing workpieces and semiconductor wafers are described. Methods of using yield information at least in part related to cost of manufacture for finishing workpieces and semiconductor wafers are described. Changes or improvements to cost of manufacture of a workpiece using current in-process cost of manufacture information, tracked current in-process cost of manufacture information, or current cost of manufacture parameters are discussed. Appreciable changes to quality or cost of manufacture of a workpiece using tracking, using in-process tracked information, networks including a multiplicity of apparatus, and using in situ finishing information are discussed. A factory, apparatus, and methods to change or improve process control are discussed. A factory, apparatus, and methods to change or improve real-time process control are discussed. A factory, apparatus, and methods to change or improve feedforward and feedback control are discussed. The workpieces can be tracked individually or by process group such as a process batch.

摘要: The present invention is an expert matching method and apparatus for managing communications between an expert having particular qualifications and an end user seeking a solution to an expert request. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus of the present invention includes a controller having a database for storing expert qualifications. In one embodiment, the controller receives an expert request. A search program identifies experts qualified to respond to the expert request. The expert request is then transmitted to the expert, which results in an expert answer transmitted to and received by the central controller. After authentication of the expert answer, using a wide range of security levels from passwords to cryptography, the answer is forwarded to the end user. The method and apparatus of the present invention have applications on the Internet as well as conventional voice telephony systems.

摘要: The invention relates to a CVD reactor having a plurality of rotary tables (2) supported on a rotationally driven susceptor (1) on dynamic gas cushions (3), wherein each gas cushion (3) is formed by an individually controlled gas flow and each gas flow, dependant on a surface temperature measured by a temperature measuring device (4), can be varied by an individual actuator (5). The invention further comprises a carrier (6), carrying the susceptor (1) and rotating with the susceptor (1). A common gas supply line (7) ending in the carrier (6) is key to the invention and provides the actuators (5) arranged on the carrier (6) with the gas that forms the gas flow.

摘要: A split proxy is configured for managing asynchronous MAPI communications between a client and a server by establishing a queuing structure for MAPI messages that make up the communications. The MAPI messages are subsequently exchanged between the client and the server using the queuing structure. Multiple remote procedure calls (RPCs) underlying the MAPI messages may be grouped together in batches for exchange between proxies of the split proxy. Also, when the client logs off from the server, a MAPI keep-alive process allows updates received at the server to be pre-populated to the split proxy for transfer to the client when it reestablishes a connection.
