摘要: A cigarette assembly machine that accepts loose shredded plant material (“SPM”) and cigarette blanks that include a filter and an empty SPM holding portion and produces cigarettes. The machine has an SPM slug forming mechanism, adapted to accept loose SPM and form it into a slug of SPM in the shape of the SPM holding portion and a cigarette blank accepting and holding mechanism, adapted to hold the cigarette blank. Further, a shaft and a two-stroke shaft moving assembly is adapted to push the SPM slug into the holding portion. Finally, the shaft includes a solid distal push tip, an intermediate brush, and a proximal shaft, whereby as the shaft is moved through its strokes, the intermediate brush scrubs the SPM slug forming mechanism.

摘要: A suture construct having a soft button, defining a multiplicity of first apertures and a set of second apertures. Also, a suture loop assembly has a suture defining a lumen and forming a double loop, formed by a double trap having a first end and a second end, formed in a trap region of the suture, and in which a first portion of the suture is threaded through the trap region lumen from the first end to the second end and the first portion extends out from the second end, and a second portion of the suture is threaded through the trap region lumen from the second end to the first end, and the second portion extends out from the first end. Finally, the double loop passes through the set of second apertures of the soft button.

摘要: A high-efficiency medical headlamp, emitting light from a front surface, and having a high-efficiency light source, producing a first light beam. An iris assembly has an annular body that defines a first annulus and has iris blades which can be extended into the annulus to form a second, smaller, annulus. This iris assembly is positioned relative to the light source so that the iris blades are in front of the high-efficiency light source. The annular body and therefore the first annulus have finite depth from back to front. A light guide is placed immediately behind the iris blades and defines a channel that is open at its back and its front and has a reflective interior surface, with the open back being transversely coincident to the light source so that light from the light source can travel through the channel to and out from the open front.

摘要: Systems and methods for treating sleep-disordered breathing and related masticatory and temporomandibular joint disorders are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an oral appliance for treating the sleep-disordered breathing and/or the related masticatory and temporomandibular joint disorders includes an upper section configured for attachment to upper teeth and a lower section configured for positioning behind lower teeth. The oral appliance also includes an extender connecting the lower section to the upper section. The extender is configured to advance the lower section into a contact with the lower teeth.

摘要: A medical headlamp assembly, including a headlamp subassembly and a headstrap subassembly, that has a headstrap having an interior surface that touches the user's head when the headstrap is being worn. Battery holders are supported by the headstrap away from the headstrap interior surface, so that batteries held by the battery holders have no interior surface that is closer than 2 mm away from the headstrap interior surface, and thereby, away from the user's head. Also, battery contacts are positioned to be contacted by batteries held in the battery holders. Finally, an electrical network is electrically connected to the battery contacts and a headlamp subassembly connector, physically connected to the headlamp subassembly and electrically connects the headlamp subassembly to the electrical network.

摘要: A method of harvesting crustaceans that utilizes a trap and buoy system, each trap being equipped with a digital camera and a light flash mechanism and being electrically connected to a buoy which has a wireless broadcast system to forward images received from the camera wirelessly to a further location that is equipped to receive the wirelessly transmitted image and to display the image to a human user. The method begins with laying out traps in the ocean, in a grid having a first grid spacing. Then for each trap, repeatedly lighting the trap with the flash mechanism and forming an image with the digital camera and sending the image to the further location. Then monitoring the images. Finally, in reliance on the images deciding to begin laying out traps in a grid, having a second grid spacing that is tighter than the first grid spacing, around a particular trap.

摘要: A method of killing cells of a targeted cell type in a patient body that utilizes nanoparticles (10) having a first portion (12), which when exposed to a target portion (14) of a targeted cell type (16), binds to the target portion and a second portion (10A), joined to the first portion, and comprised of a low resistivity material. The nanoparticles are introduced into a contact area where they contact cells of the targeted cell type. Contemporaneously, the contact area is exposed to a varying magnetic field of insufficient strength to increase the temperature of any part of the patient body by more than ten degrees Celsius, but which creates a current (20) at the nanoparticles sufficient to disrupt function of the targeted cell type.
