Abstract: A vehicle driving device includes: a rotary electrical machine; an output member configured to be drivingly coupled to a wheel; a power transmission mechanism configured to transmit a driving force between the rotary electrical machine and the output member; an inverter module configured to control driving of the rotary electrical machine; and a case configured to accommodate the rotary electrical machine, the power transmission mechanism, and the inverter module. The case includes a first accommodating chamber in which the rotary electrical machine is accommodated, a second accommodating chamber in which the inverter module is accommodated, and a division wall dividing the first accommodating chamber and the second accommodating chamber. An oil storage portion configured to store oil is formed in a lower portion of the first accommodating chamber.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for in-vehicle payments. In one example, a system for providing in-vehicle payments includes a processor and a memory in communication with the processor. The memory includes instructions that cause the processor, in response to determining when a vehicle enters a specialized region within a geo-fenced location and a vehicle operating change state signal, to transmit an instruction to provide a location confirmation interface for utilization by an occupant of the vehicle. Additionally, the instructions also cause the processor, in response to a location confirmation signal indicating that the occupant has confirmed the location of the vehicle using the location confirmation interface, to transmit another instruction to provide a payment confirmation interface for utilization by the occupant. The instructions may also be able to configure the processor to process payments.

Abstract: This method for producing a steel member includes: a carburizing step of causing carbon to infiltrate into a steel member in an austenitized state by heating the steel member to a temperature equal to or higher than an austenitic transformation completion temperature, at a carbon concentration at which the steel member and the carbon have a hypoeutectoid composition, and removing cold from the steel member in which the carbon has been caused to infiltrate; and a quenching step of, after the carburizing step, heating the steel member again to a temperature equal to or higher than the austenitic transformation completion temperature, and rapidly cooling the steel member that has been heated.

Abstract: A driving assistance device performs driving assistance of a vehicle on a basis of surrounding information collected by a plurality of sensors provided in the vehicle. The driving assistance device includes: a route calculation unit configured to calculate a movement route of the vehicle to a target position on a basis of the surrounding information from the plurality of sensors; a switching unit configured to switch settings of an upper limit value of acceleration of the vehicle between a first acceleration limit value and a second acceleration limit value smaller than the first acceleration limit value; and a movement control unit configured to move the vehicle along the movement route while controlling the vehicle at acceleration within the upper limit value set by the switching unit, wherein the switching unit sets the upper limit value of the acceleration of the vehicle to the second acceleration limit value in a case where the vehicle is stopped and a steering angle of the vehicle is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold value during control of the vehicle by the movement control unit.

Abstract: Provided is a driving assistance device allowing, when a vehicle is parked in a parking lot, provision of driving assistance based on an appropriate travel path. The device is configured such that when a vehicle is parked in a parking lot, an intra-parking-lot network representing a route that can be selected by the vehicle in the parking lot is obtained. Using this network, a candidate entry path for a vehicle's travel path from an entrance to the parking lot to a parking location is generated and obtained using the intra-parking-lot network based on a first condition. If determined that the condition for suitability is not satisfied, the candidate entry path determined not to satisfy the condition for suitability is modified based on a second condition different from the first condition and driving assistance is provided based on the modified candidate entry path.
