摘要： A housing frame includes a recess, a flat seat portion and a frame-shaped seat portion which are positioning units for a spot-like light source, a light conductive bar and a light conductive plate, respectively. The required assembly accuracy can be reliably obtained by fitting the light source, the light conductive bar and the light conductive plate to the predetermined positioning units of the housing frame. A recess and a flat seat portion have a thickness D2 smaller than the thickness D1 of a frame forming the positioning unit for the light conductive plate, and the housing frame forms a cavity, an opening of which is directed upward, and in order to obtain the required strength a reinforcing frame is provided. By reducing the thickness of the reinforcing frame, the light conductive plate can be disposed close to a display surface of any electronic product in incorporating the spread illuminating apparatus into any the electronic product.

摘要： A cover made of a light-transmissible material and adapted to cover a top surface of a light reflection pattern and an outside surface of a housing is attached on a frame-like plate, that is a part of a casing of a display product such as a cellular phone. Even if the frame-like plate is detached during or after the spread illuminating apparatus is mounted on the product, dusts or foreign materials are prevented from getting stuck to the light reflection pattern, or getting in the gap between the light conductive plate and the housing, or other component members are prevented from damaging the top surface of the light reflection pattern or the outside surface of the housing. These preventions or protections can be ensured by only one single cover, thereby simplifying the configuration of the apparatus.

摘要： Land portions to which the spot-like light source is soldered are provided at the end of the FPC, whereby the light emitting surface of the spot-like light source is aligned to the side of the FPC, that is, the FPC does not protrude from the light emitting surface. The spot-like light source mounted on the FPC is disposed close to the light conductive bar with its light emitting surface facing the end surface of the light conductive bar. Since the FPC does not exist ahead of the light emitting surface, the FPC does not overlap the end portion of the light conductive bar, so that light rays emitted from the light emitting surface do not irradiate the FPC.

摘要： There is provided a spread illuminating apparatus in which its components are reliably fixed and efficiency of light emission is improved. Frame sub-assemblies for covering peripheral portions of upper and lower surfaces of a transparent substrate and upper, lower and end surfaces of light reflection members are provided. The frame sub-assemblies are made of a metal plate and bent to be approximately U-shaped in section and the portions thereof covering the central portion of the transparent substrate, namely, covering the observation surface of the spread illuminating apparatus are cut away. The frame sub-assemblies are configured so as to constitute upper and lower halves, respectively, of a so-called picture frame, and each include a stopper for holding a spot-like light source in a predetermined position with respect to a light conductive member and stoppers for holding the transparent substrate in position with respect to a longitudinal direction of the light conductive member. Openings and projections are provided and engaged with each other to couple the frame sub-assemblies.
