    摘要: Disclosed is a transponder of a radio frequency identification system. Connected to a controller is a memory storing r-pages of k-bits of data. A first page includes an ID code relating to an integrated chip forming part of the transponder. The controller is configured, after the transponder has been interrogated by a reader, automatically and on a transponder talk only basis, to transmit transponder ID data including a concatenation of pages. Each page is led by a respective m-bit header. The header includes: (a) a first part having a random number, (b) a second part having for the first page in the ID data, a total number of pages in the ID data and for any subsequent page, a page number of the page in the memory and; (c) a third part having a sequential number for the page in the ID data.

    摘要: A method of authenticating an article includes the steps of, at an issuing station, selecting an inherent feature of the article and converting the feature into digital data to form an identification code for the article. An encryptor is used to encrypt the identification code utilizing a secret private key of an asymmetric encryption key pair and associated with the issuing party. The encrypted code is made available on a label accompanying the article. During a subsequent phase and at an authentication station, digital data relating to the feature is determined directly from the article and the code is decrypted utilizing a public key of the pair obtained from a third party in accordance with rules of a public key infrastructure. The determined data and the data relating to the feature retrieved from the decrypted code are compared to authenticate the article.

    摘要: A transponder (28) of a radio frequency identification (RFID) system comprises control circuitry, a response signal generating arrangement and a memory arrangement (22) connected to the control circuitry. The memory arrangement comprises at least a first part (42) and a second part (44). The first part (42) comprises unique identification data (UID) (70) relating to the transponder and which is permanently stored in the first part of the memory arrangement at manufacture of the transponder. The second part (44) is configured to be written to, after manufacture of the transponder. The control circuitry is configured, after energization of the transponder, to cause the response signal generating arrangement automatically to generate a first response signal modulated with data in the first part and data in the second part, to be transmitted by the transponder.

    摘要: A method of controlling the value of at least one on-line transaction involving a token associated with an authorized user comprises the steps of: prior to the at least one proposed transaction, receiving at a pre-transaction authorization station, pre-transaction authorization data. The authorization data comprises first time data relating to a time window within which the at least one proposed transaction must take place and first amount data relating to an amount with which a value of the at least one proposed transaction must comply. Substantially at the time of a proposed transaction, transaction data comprising second time data relating to a time instant of the proposed transaction and second amount data relating to a value of the proposed transaction is received at the authorization station. The authentication data and transaction data are compared in real time at 34 and only if the transaction data complies with the authorization data, is the transaction enabled.
