    摘要: A process is provided in which at least one polyol having a hydroxyl functionality of at least three, preferably four, serves as a polymerization initiator. The polyol initiator is optionally, although preferably, reacted with a catalyst to form a catalyst-initiator complex, which is then used in the polymerization of glycidyl nitrate. The resulting polyfunctional poly(glycidyl nitrate) has a functionality substantially equivalent in number to the hydroxyl functionality of the polyol. The poly(glycidyl nitrate) is cross-linked with at least one aromatic diisocyanate having at least one aromatic ring and two isocyanate moieties bonded directly to the at least one aromatic ring. Examples of the aromatic diisocyanate include toluene diisocyanate, phenylene diisocyanate, and/or methylene di-p-phenylene diisocyanate.

    摘要: A remote monitoring system providing diagnostic and remedial functions to a computer system. The remote monitoring system comprises a service center and a diagnostic agent. The diagnostic agent is located proximate to the monitored computer system and electronically coupled to the monitored computer system such that the diagnostic agent can retrieve information about the various states of the monitored computer system. The diagnostic agent stores the retrieved information and further processes it for future use. Such information includes fault monitor information, accounting information, system performance information, and system management information. In addition, the diagnostic agent has control over the monitored computer system allowing it to perform diagnostic and remedial functions. Further, the diagnostic agent is electronically coupled to a service center located remotely to the monitored computer system. In the context of fault monitoring operations, the diagnostic agent interrogates the monitored computer system for information related to malfunctions. Moreover, the diagnostic agent interacts with the service center through a communication interface to retrieve various diagnostic and remedial information related to discovered computer system operability problems. The diagnostic agent uses the retrieved information to overcome the discovered problems. Alternatively, the remote monitoring system used as an information tool for a business model to provide remedial services for computer systems.

    摘要: A thermoplastic elastomer is present in a substantially solid state suitable for use as a binder for a propellant, explosive, and/or gas generant of a supplemental restraint system. The thermoplastic elastomer is formed from a composition including A blocks which are crystalline at temperatures below about 75° C. and B blocks which are amorphous at temperatures above about −20° C. The A blocks are derived from oxetane derivatives and/or tetrahydrofuran derivatives. The B blocks are derived from oxetanes, tetrahydrofuran, oxiranes, and derivatives thereof. The A and B blocks are end-capped with at least one diisocyanate and linked with at least one difunctional oligomer having two functional groups which are reactive with free and unreacted isocyanate moieties of the diisocyanate.

    摘要: This thermoplastic elastomer is present in a substantially solid state suitable for use as a binder for a propellant, explosive, and/or gas generant of a supplemental restraint system. The thermoplastic elastomer is formed from a composition including A blocks which are crystalline at temperatures below about 75° C. and B blocks which are amorphous at temperatures above about −20° C. The A blocks and B-blocks are end-capped with a diisocyanate having a first isocyanate moiety that is substantially more reactive with the terminal groups of the blocks than the second isocyanate moiety, whereby the more reactive first isocyanate moiety is capable of reacting with the terminal groups of the blocks, leaving the less reactive second isocyanate moiety free and unreacted. The end-capped A blocks and the end-capped B blocks are linked together with a linking compound having two isocyanate-reactive groups which are sufficiently unhindered to react with the free and unreacted isocyanate moieties of the end-capped polymers.

    摘要: An enhanced cache line directory entry includes at least one affinity bit that indicates an affinity for a particular type of cache line ownership. The affinity bit is used to modify a request for a cache line in accordance with the indicated affinity. The affinity bit may represent an affinity for read-only requests, and the affinity bit may represent an affinity for read-write requests. For example, if an I/O affinity bit is in the set state and an I/O device requests a cache line with read-write permission, the request may be converted to a read-only request in accordance with the indicated affinity. As another example, if a processor affinity bit is in the set state and a processor requests a cache line with read-only permission, the request may be converted to a read-write request. Software control of the affinity bits enables system performance to be tuned and cache coherency operations can thereby be reduced.
