Abstract:
A method for metal ornamentation, particularly for making granulated metal ornaments, is used to arrange single and single line granulated arrangements or patterns and to set gemstones within a workpiece. The method places pre-formed spherical granules in seats defined on a surface of the workpiece. The seats permit the granules to stay in position on the workpiece and allow adhesive to cover more contact surface area between the granules and the workpiece. Since the amount of fusion will increase due to the increased contact area, the granules are strong enough to be used to set gemstones. In addition, this method facilitates using small round stones in lieu of metal granules to form unique granulated patterns.
Abstract:
A method and system for migrating massive amounts of data in a secure and traceable fashion using a distributed storage system is described. Data shuttle storage devices moves large quantities of content from one source location to one or more target locations by first acting in local communication with the source location, then being physically moved to a location where a shuttle storage device may be in local communication with the target location. This migration does not compromise data accessibility, reliability, or security. Dynamic configurable policy-driven data placement specifies the number and location of multiple copies of each digital data object. Each digital data object replica remains traceable even as the hardware onto which it is stored is being relocated. The content remains accessible at any time.
Abstract:
A method and system for environmental control in film processing is disclosed. In general, photographic film is coated with a processing solution, such as a developer solution, and is then developed within a controlled air environment. In the preferred embodiments, the temperature and humidity within the air environment is strictly controlled, which allows the development process to be more accurately and consistently controlled. This also allows fewer processing chemicals to be used and reduces harmful effluents caused by photographic film processing.
