摘要： An actuator for a hand operated foam dispensing pump that utilizes a folding nozzle is presented. The folding nozzle of the actuator is configured so as to lock the actuator in place and prevent operation of the pump when the nozzle is folded. The actuator substantially reduces pump closure loosening (back-off) and nozzle breakage during shipping of a filled product by eliminating trigger handles or other conventional nozzle types which protrude from the side of the actuator. As such, the new actuator is particularly well-suited for use in e-commerce where the shipping of unboxed products is becoming increasingly common. The actuator is configured such that actuator depression (actuation) cannot occur when the folding nozzle is in a folded position.

The nail polish dispenser features a dual purpose nail polish applicator assembly that allows for the application of polish over a broad region of a fingernail via a brush applicator and also allows for a narrow line application of polish via a pen applicator. The nail polish dispenser includes the dual purpose applicator assembly and a polish reservoir or bottle for holding liquid nail polish and a cap. The dual purpose applicator assembly is removably attachable to the bottle and the cap is removably attachable to the pen applicator of the applicator assembly. The brush applicator and pen applicator are in fluid communication with the polish when the polish bottle is in an upright position and an inverted position, respectively.

The hand foam pump includes an actuator, a closure, a housing, cylinder bores for an air piston and a liquid piston within the housing and an air piston and a liquid piston fixed to a stem, wherein the air and liquid pistons are reciprocally mounted within the cylinder bores, and check valves, among other components. An elastic, dome shaped, plastic return spring is utilized to return the actuator to its rest position after actuation. The plastic return spring is positioned over the closure and below the actuator. The all plastic hand foam pump is suitable for dispensing foamable liquids from a dispenser bottle. Used pumps do not require disassembly to be recycled.

A portion of the actuating mechanism helps to unseat a check valve at the outlet of the fluid chamber. The foamer pump has a fluid chamber, and an outlet of the fluid chamber is connected to a mixing chamber. An air chamber has an air channel that connects the air chamber to ambient air in a first position and to the mixing chamber in a second position. A piston causes the volume of air chamber and the liquid chamber each to be reduced, forcing air from the air chamber and foamable fluid from the liquid chamber into the mixing chamber where they blend to form an air/liquid mixture.
