Abstract:
An electrical device removal tool for electrical equipment, such as circuit breakers, is disclosed herein. The tool can be lightweight, portable, and rugged for providing electrically operated controlled insertion and removal of the electrical equipment by an operator from a remote location using a coupling device engaged with the electrical equipment housing.
Abstract:
A remote switch operator that is portable and lightweight with onboard power, relays, and potentiometers for controlling two or more remote units from a single remote switch operator in a watertight, explosion proof rugged housing. A method for operating the operator with electrical equipment is included. This operator allows a user to stand at least 25 feet away from an arc flash boundary with no user training needed.
Abstract:
A motor control bucket replacement tool, such as for circuit breakers, that is portable, and rugged for providing electrically operated controlled insertion and removal of electrical equipment by an operator from a remote location using an easily detachable magnetic coupling device for engagement with the electrical equipment and using a linear actuator.
Abstract:
A portable racking tool for the installation and removal of electrical equipment, such as circuit breakers, is disclosed herein. Also disclosed is a method of using the portable racking tool. The portable racking tool can be lightweight and rugged for providing electrically operated controlled installation and removal of electrical equipment by an operator from a remote location using a coupling for engagement with the electrical equipment.

Abstract:
A portable motorized charge, trip, close device for manually charging, closing, or tripping circuit breakers or electrical equipment surrounded by a metal surface is described herein. The portable motorized charge, trip, close device can be operated by an operator, while the operator is outside an arc flash hazard boundary. The device can include a frame, handles, at least two magnetic housings connected to the frame, a gear box with a charging rod collar, a rotatable shaft, a charging rod moveable mount, a charging rod connected to two rotatable hinges, an adjustable closeable motor mount bracket, a gear box key way, a shaft housing, a motor, a motor control, a linear actuator engaging the rotatable hinges, a solenoid, a pressure release pin and spring, and a limit switch.
Abstract:
A portable power motorized racking tool having a front plate and a back plate disposed opposite, a first and second handle on the front plate, a motor mount secured to the front plate with a motor mount extension protruding through a shaft hole, a motor with torque limiting clutch attached to the motor mount, a battery between the plates supported by 4 braces connected to the front and back plates containing the battery; a power cable connecting the battery to the motor, a start button with ignition wire connecting the start button to the battery secured to the front plate for actuating the motor, a rotatable shaft connected to the torque limiting clutch and contained by the motor mount extension, an install switch and a remove switch each connected to the motor for rotating the rotatable shaft, and a universal tool connected to the rotatable shaft.
Abstract:
A portable motorized racking tool and a method for installing, removing and testing electrical equipment is described herein. A circuit breaker having a frame can be attached to a metal surface around the electrical equipment with magnets. The frame can support a solenoid with a plunger, a motor control for operating a motor with a gear assembly that rotates a tool first in one direction, then in a second direction, while the operator controls the framed tool by using a remote switch operator. The remote switch operator can supply power and signals to the framed tool, while the operator can maintain a position outside an arc flash hazard zone.
Abstract:
A portable motorized racking tool for installing, removing, and testing electrical equipment is disclosed herein. The portable motorized racking tool can be used to operate upon electrical equipment from a remote location outside of an arc flash zone. Also disclosed is a method of use of the portable motorized racking tool.
Abstract:
A charge, close, trip device with a solenoid on a frame or a motor. The frame can include supports, beams, and handles. The motor can be mounted on a mount with a bracket that can be attached to the frame. A solenoid can be mounted on a bracket that can be mounted to the frame. The solenoid can have a plunger for engaging buttons on equipment. A gear assembly can be in a gear box attached to the motor mount bracket. The gear assembly can have a collar that can connect to a shaft. The shaft can include a key in a shaft key way. The gear box can include a gear box key way and a shaft housing for engaging the shaft. The motor can be connected to the gear box. Magnet housings can be connected to the frame with extendable magnets disposed inside.
