摘要： There is provided a guide device for a machining head capable of machining a workpiece such as a cylinder head of an engine accurately, a machine having the guide device, and a guide method. At least one of guide posts formed in a guide post member has an air pressure controlling function capable of fitting and holding a guide bar in the guide post in a non-contact state, and other guide bars have a very small clearance with the guide post facing to the guide bar. Thereby, the position at which the machining head is held is accurately held.

摘要： A flame-retardant polyphenylene ether resin composition comprising (I) 85 to 97% by weight of a resin consisting of (1) 20 to 90% by weight of a polyphenylene ether of the formula (A): ##STR1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and m is the degree of polymerization, and (2) 80 to 10% by weight of a styrene type polymer and (II) 3 to 15% by weight of at least one member of the group consisting of phosphorus-containing compounds of formula (B): ##STR2## where X is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an alkylthio of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an aryloxy of 6 of 10 carbon atoms or hydroxy substituted aryloxy of 6 to 10 carbon atoms, Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are each an alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkoxy of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or an aryl group, Z is an oxygen or sulfur atom, n and p are each an integer of 0 to 4 and q is an integer of 0 or 1. Similar compositions are also prepared including styrene type compounded grafted to the polyphenylene ether and including organic phosphates and organic phosphites and/or melamine, benzoguanamine or their methylol or etherified methylol derivatives.

摘要： A graft copolymer having enhanced moldability with high mechanical strength capable of forming a molded article having excellent gloss, transparency and color is prepared by grafting styrene polymer segments formed under specific conditions selected onto the backbone polymer of polyphenylene ether. Said styrene polymer segments are formed by melting and kneading continuously a mixture of (a) polyphenylene ether expressed by the general formula of: ##STR1## WHEREIN R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent an alkyl group having 1-4 carbon atoms or a halogen atom, respectively, and n represents the degree of polymerization and is 90-250, (b) a styrene polymer containing at least 80 weight % of styrene units and (c) styrene-containing monomers in the presence of a radical initiator at a temperature in the range from 160.degree. to 300.degree. C thereby to complete graft polymerization within a time ranging from 0.5 to 15 minutes, preferably under uniform mechanical shearing stress throughout said mixture during graft polymerization.
