    摘要: A metallic container includes a body with a bottom and a neck. The neck includes a thread profile, a curl, and a curl transition between the thread profile and the curl. The curl defines an opening. The thread profile of the neck is configured to receive a corresponding thread profile of a reusable closure when the reusable closure is coupled to the neck. The curl is configured to engage with an insert positioned proximate to the curl and within a cavity defined in a casing of the reusable closure. The curl is configured to reduce damage to the insert during at least one of the reusable closure being coupled to or uncoupled from the neck. Methods for fabricating the curl include applying a thread profile to a metallic container neck, reducing a diameter of a portion of the neck above the thread profile, and curling the reduced-diameter neck portion.

A frangible score (24) in the center panel (12) is breakable to form a pour opening (27) in the center panel (12). The cover (60) is rotatable to overlay the pour opening (27) and effectively reclose the pour opening (27) in a reclosed condition of the can end (10).

    摘要: A method of inspecting metallic container components (10) provides indexing a container component (10) produced from a metallic material into axial alignment with a probe (110). The probe (110) has a coil (176) produced from an electrical conductor. An alternating current (183) is applied to the coil (176) wherein a first magnetic field (184) is generated. An eddy current (188) develops in the container component (10) in response to the first magnetic field (184). A second magnetic field (192) is generated in response to the eddy current (188). Changes in an impedance amplitude and phase angle in the coil (176) are measured. A determination of the fitness for use of the container component (10) is made based on the measured changes in the impedance amplitude and phase angle in the coil (176).

    摘要: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for sealing bottles with a Roll-on Pilfer Proof (ROPP) closure and a childproof overcap are provided. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to an overcap that can be placed onto or formed onto the ROPP closure. The overcap has a retainer that secures the overcap to the ROPP closure and allows the overcap to move relative to the ROPP closure in a longitudinal axis. The overcap moves between a first position or mode of operation where the overcap can rotate about the ROPP closure and a second position or mode of operation where the overcap engages the ROPP closure to transmit a twisting or torque force to the ROPP closure and open the bottle.
