Abstract: Fabric materials and garments are disclosed that have been treated with a water resistant treatment composition. The water resistant treatment composition contains a bio-based water repellent. Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to insect-resistant fabrics or garments and methods for making the same. The insect-resistant fabrics or garments include an insect repelling composition containing a micellar system and optionally an insecticide composition. As an example, an insect-resistant fabric in accordance with the disclosure can include a base fabric (e.g., polyester) having been treated to include an insect repellant composition containing a micellar system. The micellar system may include one or more insect repelling agents (e.g., essential oils) contained within one or more micelles (e.g., saponins) in a first region of the fabric, and optionally an insecticide (e.g., permethrin) in second region of the base fabric. The inclusion of a micellar system in an insect repellant composition is shown herein to provide improved insect-resistant efficacy. Additionally, certain insect-resistant fabrics disclosed herein can also demonstrate durability when exposed to wear such as laundering the garment.

Abstract: Wool fabrics are disclosed that have improved stretch properties. The wool fabrics can be used in numerous and diverse applications, such as to make uniforms. The fabric can be designed to have greater than 15%, such as greater than about 20% stretch in one or more directions, such as in the fill direction. In one aspect, longer wool fibers are used in the fabric in order to increase durability.

Abstract: A protective garment is disclosed that is reusable and can be relaundered over 70 times. The garment is made from a single layer barrier fabric. Any seams on the protective fabric are covered with a seam tape. The seam tape can include an adhesive layer, a cover layer, and an optional film layer positioned between the cover layer and the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer can be a crosslinkable polyester polymer.
