    摘要: A shaft coupling for connecting an upper shaft with a lower shaft within a pumping system is designed to handle a large tensile load between the upper and lower shafts. In some embodiments, the upper shaft includes a shaft ring groove and the coupling has a body and a first receiving chamber within the body that receives an end of the upper shaft. The coupling also includes an upper internal groove extending into the body from the first receiving chamber and an upper split ring that is configured to be compressed into a position occupying both the upper internal groove and the shaft ring groove of the upper shaft. Set screws compress the upper split ring into the shaft ring groove of the upper shaft. In another embodiment, the coupling includes a plurality of locking screws that extend through the body into corresponding lock screw grooves in the upper and lower shafts.

    摘要: Systems and methods for determining fluid rheological characteristics of a fluid used in a subsurface operation are provided. The methods include measuring temperature, pressure, and at least one of a flow rate and a flow velocity of the fluid in a first fluid circuit. A model is based on the temperature, the pressures, and the flow rate or flow velocity. The fluid rheological characteristic of the fluid in a second fluid circuit is determined by measuring a temperature and flow rate and/or flow velocity in the second fluid circuit. The rheological characteristic of the fluid is calculated based on the model employing the temperature and the flow rate/flow velocity of the second fluid circuit.

    摘要: A pressure sensing package includes a sensor chamber and an annular chamber extending about the sensor chamber. A primary diaphragm divides the sensor chamber into a first part receiving a first pressure and a second part including a differential pressure sensor approximately centered with respect to a sensor axis and a first transmission fluid. The first transmission fluid transmits the first pressure to a first differential pressure sensor face. A secondary diaphragm divides the annular chamber into a first part receiving a second pressure and a second part including a second transmission fluid. The second pressure is transmitted to a second pressure sensor face via the secondary diaphragm and the second transmission fluid. The primary and secondary diaphragms are positioned with respect to one another along the sensor axis direction such that pressures other than the first and second pressures acting on the pressure sensor sum to approximately zero.

    摘要: Metals, such as mercury, may be removed from aqueous, hydrocarbon, or mixed oilfield or refinery fluids by: applying a sulfur compound having the general formula HS-X, wherein X is a heteroatom substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, and/or alkylaryl group either alone or in combination with or as a blend with at least one demulsifier, a buffering agent, a pour point depressant, and/or a water clarifier to chelate the at least one metal and form a chelate complex of the sulfur compound with the at least one metal and then separating the chelate complex from the fluid.
