The invention relates to an improved method for the preparation of a 2',6'-dialkyl-N-alkoxymethyl-2-chloro-acetanilide compound of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are identical or different and stand for straight-chained or branched C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups.According to the invention a dialkyl aniline of the general formula (II), ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are as defined above, is treated with aqueous formaldehyde solution in an apolar solvent at a temperature of 30.degree. to 80.degree. C., the solution of the resulting oxymethyl derivative formed with said apolar solvent is separated from the aqueous formaldehyde solution at an elevated temperature and then dehydrated, the resulting azomethine derivative is reacted with chloroacetyl chloride in the same apolar solvent medium, the resulting chloromethyl compound is reacted with an alcohol of the general formula (V),R.sub.3 -OH (V)wherein R.sub.3 is as defined above, in an amount sufficient to bind the hydrochloric acid liberated in the reaction, the reaction mixture is admixed with water, and the organic phase containing the required end-product is separated and optionally processed.

The invention relates to a process for producing aqueous and oily, sulfur containing products.The invention also relates to an apparatus for producing aqueous and oily, sulfur containing products, which comprises a feeder, mixing unit and a unit for separating the liquid and solid phases. In the process a dispersion is prepared from lime sulfur solution, a surface active material and oil.In the apparatus the feeder includes a wet mill, the charging pump delivering the suspension thus obtained, the mixing unit is provided with a heating jacket, agitator, a cooler and a unit for separating the liquid and solid phases. The apparatus comprises a further mixing unit with a storage tank equipped with a charging pump and dispergator. The feeder, the mixing unit and the further mixing unit are interconnected by pipes.

Fodder and fodder additives promoting the weight increase of domestic animals, and a process for the use thereof. The fodder and fodder additives of the invention contain stable complexes of titanium formed with ascorbic acid, o-dihydroxybenzene, dihydroxy naphthalene disulfonic acids, hydroxy carboxylic acids or polyhydroxy carboxylic acids or the salts thereof, preferably in a quantity of 0.001-6.00 percent by weight of the whole. Optionally, compounds exerting a preserving effect, preferably in a quantity of 0.01-2.0 percent by weight of the titanium complex, can be added, besides the usual components and additives of the fodder. The fodder and fodder additives of the invention promote the weight increase of domestic animals and reduce the specific fodder consumption.
