A gearbox lubrication suction pipe is used for transporting the lubrication medium from the gearbox to the pump. At least one pump outlet pipe can be used for transporting the lubrication medium from the pump to other components of the wind turbine. A thermal wrap is in thermal connection to, at least a portion of, at least one of, the gearbox, pump, gearbox lubrication suction pipe and pump outlet pipe. The thermal wrap is used to heat or cool, at least a portion of, the lubrication medium.

Methods and apparatus for facilitating current transmission through a circuit breaker are described. In an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus, a coupler that includes a copper conductive ring having an inner annular wall is provided. The coupler is electrically coupled to the line terminal. A bore extends through the ring, and the bore is sized so that the shaft can extend therethrough. A plurality of copper bristles extend radially inward from the ring inner annular wall, and the bristles are in electrical contact with the conductive ring. The bristles also are in electrical contact with shaft when shaft extends through ring bore. At least some bristles extend sufficiently radially inward from the ring inner wall so that free ends of at least some bristles are in electrical contact with the shaft when the shaft extends through the bore.

A seal is provided between relatively moving parts 12, 14 and includes plural layers 24 of woven material such as metal, polymer or ceramic materials. The layers are secured to one another and to a first part 22 of the relatively moving first and second parts and extend freely from that first part into engagement with the second part. The woven material layers accommodate shape variations between the parts. In a further form, bristles 38 are disposed between layers of woven material and secured at one end to one part. Micromachining methods for fabricating micromechanical structures which include plunger elements free to reciprocate within cavities are fabricated using processing steps in common with those employed in high density interconnect (HDI) technology for multi-chip module packaging. A polymer, such as a polyimide, is utilized as a micromachinable material. In one embodiment, cavities are formed in the polymer material by laser ablation, employing a sacrificial layer as a mask. Electroplated copper may be employed as a sacrificial release layer. One particular structure is a micromechanical electric switch including an array of individual switch contacts actuatable in common.
