    摘要: A device for lubricating and cooling gear mechanisms has a supply line for supplying lubricating and coolant oil from an oil sump into a first channel in a spray pipe. The first spray channel connects to at least one first nozzle for the targeted spraying of the lubricating and coolant oil into areas of the gear that require extensive lubrication and that are allocated to the first channel. The supply line is connected to a second channel and one or more second nozzles connected to the latter for spraying the oil in areas that require extensive lubrication and are allocated to the second channel. The channels are prioritized with regard to more or less critical regions of the gear mechanism. A control valve that is responsive to a back-pressure in the spray pipe actuates the channels to supply the gear mechanism in accordance with the prioritization of the regions.

The lubrication system includes a lubricant reservoir, a lubricant supply line, having a first end in fluid communication with the supply port of the reservoir, a lubricant distribution header having a first end of in fluid communication with the second end of the supply line, the header having a plurality of lubricant feed orifices positioned along the length of the header, the feed orifices effective in applying the film of lubricant onto the gear set, a first lubricant return line having a first end in fluid communication with the lower portion of the gear set cover, a filter assembly, having an inlet and an outlet, the inlet of the filter assembly in fluid communication with the second end of the first lubricant return line, the filter assembly having at least one filter element positioned therein for removing particles entrained in the lubricant and a second lubricant return line having a first end in fluid communication with the outlet of the filter assembly and a second end in fluid communication with the lubricant return port of the reservoir.

    摘要: A lubricating system for a mechanism having a rotatable shaft supported in a housing by bearings. The lubrication system includes an open-ended axially extending fluid passage defined by the shaft, a fluid conduit defined by the housing, and a disc-shaped fluid diverter for fluidically joining the fluid passage in the shaft with the fluid conduit in the housing. The fluid diverter is arranged at the open-end of the shaft and includes a concentric hollow pilot portion extending at least partially, within the fluid passage in the shaft. The fluid diverter defines a series of open-ended channels which radially extend from and are joined in fluid communication with the hollow pilot portion. At least one port extends from the channel to direct lubrication toward the bearings supporting the shaft. Annular seals provided at the radial edges of the disc-shaped fluid diverter facilitate fluid flow between the channels in the diverter and the fluid passage in the housing.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for lubricating a sun gear 32 connected to a hollow coupling shaft 30 which is adapted to be joined to a source of rotational energy. The shaft 30 defines at least one opening 90 intermediate its ends which is adapted to receive a source 92 of lubricating fluid under pressure periodically throughout the rotational cycle of the shaft. By damming 108 the periphery of the opening on the interior of the shaft 30, the film of lubricating fluid formed along the interior surface of the shaft by centrifugal force is precluded from draining out of the opening 90 when that opening is not supplied with lubricating fluid under pressure. Channels 142 are provided across the walls 96 of the shaft to distribute the lubricating fluid thereformed axially towards the sun gear 32. Means 102 are also provided on the interior of the shaft 30 to axially distribute the entering oil and to preclude oil entering the opening from being discharged across the shaft and out of another opening which is not aligned with a source of lubricating fluid.
