摘要: Network service performance monitoring apparatus and methods are disclosed. Performance information associated with a network service is collected from multiple service monitoring points. The service monitoring points include at least a service monitoring point in a first communication network and a service monitoring second communication network that is controlled independently of the first communication network. The first communication network could be a network in which a service provider system that provides the network service is located, and the second communication network could be a communication network through which the network service is accessible by a network service consumer. In this case, the collected performance information may be integrated to create an inter-network view of performance of the service. Historical performance information associated with a network service may be used to establish a performance baseline for the service.

摘要: A vacuum trap has a vacuum chamber and a conduit having at least one first opening open to atmosphere and a second opening connected to the vacuum chamber. A valve connects the conduit to the vacuum chamber and seals the vacuum chamber. A vacuum source maintains a vacuum inside the vacuum chamber immediately prior to the valve opening, the vacuum being sufficient to draw a vermin through an opening of the conduit. A detector detects the presence of vermin, the valve opening in response to a signal from the detector when vermin are detected.

摘要: Completion times for a set of subtasks, which are performed without interaction with a main task managing execution of the subtasks, are estimated. These estimated completion times, together with actual completion times for previously performed subtasks, are employed to determine a time interval at which a progress indicator is incrementally advanced. The progress indicator is then advanced at the calculated rate concurrently with performance of a current subtask. By adjusting for actual completion times of previously completed subtasks, compensation and correction for overestimation or underestimation of subtask completion times allows the progress indicator to adapt appropriately. The advance rate may also be dynamically adjusted to compensate for underestimation of the completion time for a current subtask. The displayed progress indicator thus provides meaningful information to the user regarding the rate and extent of progress despite a lack of progress information exchange between the main task and the subtasks.

摘要: Secure domain information protection apparatus and methods are disclosed. Service access information associated with access, by an external user that is outside a secure domain, to a service that is provided in the secure domain is processed to determine whether it includes sensitive information. If so, a protection action is performed on the service access information, on an entire service message or to one or more portions thereof, for example, to protect the sensitive information. A specification language and execution environment are also proposed to provide for high speed processing. Sensitive information detection criteria, protection actions, and possibly targets on which the protection actions are to be performed, may be identified in a data structure stored on a machine-readable medium.
