摘要： A security latch for a double gate or door includes: a. a striker unit for attachment to a first side of the gate or door, including: 1) a striker with at least two notches at its top, a first notch being proximate to a horizontal center of the striker, a second notch being proximate to a right end of the striker; 2) a security plate adjacent to the striker; 3) a striker bracket attached to the security plate and through which the striker slides; and 4) a locking member slidably attached to the security plate, the striker being slidable through the locking member, a portion of the locking member being slidable into at least one of the notches; b. a separate keeper unit for attachment to an opposite, second side of the gate or door, including: 1) two matching C-brackets for receiving the striker, and 2) a keeper plate, each C-bracket being attached to the keeper plate; and c. a gate attaching mechanism for securing the security plate of the striker unit and the keeper plate of the keeper unit to the respective side of the gate or door. A separate C-bracket keeper unit is also included for single hung doors or gates.

摘要： A reversible gate and door latch having a striker bar attached to a grip handle and a rear handle. The gate and door latch is locked in a closed position behind a pronged keeper by immobilizing a security plate that slides vertically in relation to the pivoting action of the striker bar. The security plate is held in place by the striker bar, which passes through it, and slides vertically through a upper and lower horizontal stirrup. The slidable security plate is immobilized by placing a padlock or security pin in a security plate aperture. A striker handle is attached to the striker bar in a parallel fashion to allow for facile griping and pivoting of the striker bar by the user. A rear handle secured to the opposite side of the gate or door allows for operation of the latch from opposite the locking side.

摘要： A latch with multiple locking means comprising first, second and third supporting bases for attaching to the surface of a door, gate or jamb. The latch is engaged and disengaged by pivoting a striker through interstices defined between the supporting bases and first and second stirrup members. The latch is locked from the inside by securing a padlock through a passage created by an aperture in a handle and an aperture in a first stirrup member. Additional means of locking the latch is provided by a winged unit attached to the end of the striker. The winged unit engages a double-pronged keeper and is padlocked thereto. The double-pronged keeper comprises two inclining prongs along which the striker slides. Located on an upper portion of the inclining prongs are notches in which the striker fails and is securely held. Another means for locking the latch is provided by a pin which passes through an aperture in the handle and a coninciding aperture in the first stirrup member. A pivoting assemblage and locking means are provided such that the latch is operated and locked from the outside. The latch is mounted on either the right or left side of a door or gate.

摘要： A gate and door latch having alternate means of opening and closing either by a horizontal sliding action of a striker or pivoting of the striker. The striker is manipulated into an open or closed position by means of latching or unlatching the striker member from a pronged keeper. A striker slot allows the striker member to be slid horizontally from side to side in an open or closed position or to pivot about a striker pivot bolt in an open or closed position. A rear lever handle is secured to the back side of the gate or door allowing for opening or closing the latch from the rear by rotating the rear lever handle. Rotation of the rear lever handle actuates a lever located on the front side of the gate and door latch causing the lifting and pivoting of the striker into an open position.
