    摘要: A method to route a packet in a computer network in which the packet is transmitted via a router to a destination that is in a sleep state. The data packet causes a router to broadcast an address resolution request which in response awakens the destination from its sleep state. Upon awakening, the destination provokes a resolution of a destination address in which the address resolution is provoked without waiting for a reception of another address resolution request. When a second data packet is transmitted to the destination address, the destination address resolution is already resolved.

    摘要: A Universal Serial Bus (USB) hub for allowing communication between a host device and one or more peripheral devices. The USB hub is configured to allow the host device to communicate with the peripheral devices in at least two communication modes and to automatically switch between communication modes in response to the type of connection between the host device and the USB hub. In a first communication mode, the host device is wirelessly coupled to the USB hub and in a second communication mode, the host device is physically coupled (wired-connection) to the USB hub.

A host computer finds a port in use by a host application, selects program information based on the port in use by the application, and sends the program information to a port filter. The port filter receives a packet that contains a port identifier. The port-filter uses the program information to decide whether there is a host application associated with the port identifier and sends a wake-up message to the host computer only when there is an associated host application.
