Corresponding ranges between images before and after switching therebetween can be displayed with the display scale fixed, such that the probability of the displayed region extending outside of the entire image is reduced and comparison of images is facilitated.

    摘要: An image pickup apparatus capable of preventing a user who uses another device from knowing the current location of a photographer based on shooting information about an image when an external apparatus distributes the image to the other device. A calculation unit calculates a distance from the shooting location of the image file to the current location of the image pickup apparatus. A distance determination unit determines whether the calculated distance is larger than a predetermined lower limit. A transmission control unit controls to transmit the image file to the external apparatus when the distance determination unit determines that the distance is larger than the lower limit, and not to transmit the image file to the external apparatus when the distance determination unit determines that the distance is not larger than the lower limit.

The instruction unit is configured to issue a change instruction for changing a playback target to another moving image while a selected moving image is being played back. The playback speed determination unit is configured to determine a playback speed of the moving image to be played back after the change instruction, according to the playback time. The moving image reproduction unit is configured to play back the moving image instructed for reproduction by the change instruction at the playback speed.

The image data is classified into a predetermined time period on the basis of a photographing date and time obtained from the attribution information. The number of the photographing apparatus photographing the image data classified every predetermined time period is discriminated, and the image data classified into the time period in which the number of the pieces of image data is larger than a threshold value is extracted. The extracted image data is discriminated from the other image data to be displayed. Thereby, even if a plurality of pieces of still image data and moving image data photographed by a plurality of digital cameras and video cameras exists, a candidate of the image data relatively significant among them can be extracted easily.
