Abstract: A layer jump control apparatus and method is provided to control an optical drive during a layer jump operation. According to the magnitude variations of a focus error signal during a predetermined period, the invention estimates the position and relative velocity of a pickup head and a disk so as to dynamically modify the magnitude of a braking force, causing the optical pickup head to make a stable jump on the target layer, then brake and finally reactivate a closed-loop focus control process without going into an out of lock state.

Abstract: A display device and a configuration of common electrode thereof are provided. The display device and the configuration of common electrode thereof are used for dividing the common electrode connected to an electrostatic discharge protection circuit into two conducting wires and electrically connecting two conducting wires between two corresponding adjacent signal lines to form a net structure. Thus, the aforementioned configuration is able to repair the short circuits occurring between several common electrodes and several signal lines, thereby increasing the yield rate of the display device.

Abstract: A method of laser-assisted pressing is used to adjust the pressing position with a laser projector and an impressible element while pressing an opaque object. The apparatus in this invention is characterized by a platform, a pressing unit with at least one press head, and at least one laser projector for projecting a laser beam to form a light area. The press head presses the impressible element to form a pressure mark indicating the pressing position. The light area is then adjusted to match the pressure mark. Finally, the relative positioning of the platform and the pressing unit is adjusted to match the light area with the area to be pressed. Thus the pressing position will be accurate in the pressing process.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a power converter, which includes a half-bridge circuit parallel-connected to an input voltage and having two series-connected power switches, an LLC resonant circuit formed by a resonant inductor, magnetic inductance of a primary winding and a resonant capacitor, a current-circulating circuit parallel-connected to the half-bridge circuit and having two series-connected rectifiers, and a full-wave rectification circuit connected to a secondary winding for generating an output voltage across an output capacitor. The LLC resonant circuit is parallel-connected to one of the power switches, and the line between the two rectifiers is cross-connected to the line between the resonant inductor and the primary winding. Thus, since the current-circulating circuit is able to guide current through the resonant inductor into circulation in switching moment of the power switches, parasitic capacitance of the primary winding is prevented from being overcharged by the current through the resonant inductor accordingly.
