摘要: Apparatuses and methods of treating a collapsed vertebra may include inserting cannulae into the damaged vertebral body and one or more adjacent vertebral bodies and repositioning the one or more adjacent vertebral bodies by manipulating one or more of the cannulae. Before or after repositioning the vertebral bodies, the method may further include passing through the cannula and into the damaged vertebra a disruption tool for fracturing the damaged vertebral body. Once the cortical bone is broken or otherwise disrupted, the height of the damaged vertebral body may be restored, for example by removing the disruption tool and inserting through the cannula another tool, implant, device and/or material to restore the height of the vertebral body and to restore normal spinal curvature in the affected area. Bone cement, bone chips, demineralized bone or other grafting material or filler may be added with or without an implanted device to augment the damaged vertebral body.

摘要: A device for treating fractures, comprises a plate receiving structure including on a bone facing side thereof a recess sized and shaped to receive a fixation plate anchored in a desired position on a bone and a mating structure sized and located to engage a corresponding structure of the fixation plate to prevent relative movement between the fixation plate and the device in combination with at least one leg projecting laterally away from the recess, a first one of the at least one legs including a first fixation element receiving hole extending therethrough, the first leg being positioned and oriented so that, when the device is received on a fixation plate anchored to the bone in the desired position, the first fixation element receiving hole is aligned to pass a fixation element inserted therethrough into the bone without passing through a longitudinal axis of the medullary canal.

摘要: A bone plate (1) with a longitudinal axis (2), a bottom surface (10) facing a bone and a top surface (11) and comprising a) an oblong base plate (3) with a anchoring portion (21) extending towards a first end (26) of the base plate (3) and a coupling portion (23) extending towards a second end (27) of the base plate (3); b) a sliding plate (6) connected with said coupling portion (23) which is slideable parallel to said longitudinal axis (2); whereby c) at least one first plate hole (4) is located in said anchoring portion (21) and at least one second plate hole (13) is located in said sliding plate (6); d) said base plate (3) and/or said sliding plate (6) is provided with retaining means (5) limiting a motion of said sliding plate (6) relative to said base plate (3) perpendicular to said top surface (11) in such manner that the sliding quality between said sliding plate (6) and said base plate (3) is maintained; and e) said at least one second plate hole (13) of said sliding plate (6) is provided with rigid locking means (12) allowing a rigid connection between a screw head (8) of a bone screw (7) insertable therein.
