摘要: When a wireless terminal attaches to the network, the wireless terminal is assigned a temporary identifier. Different sets of access restrictions are associated with different blocks of temporary identifiers. When a message and a corresponding temporary identifier is received by the network from a requesting wireless terminal, an access controller identifies the block to which the assigned temporary identifier belongs and determines the access restrictions associated with that block.

摘要: Described is a method for managing locally switched call connections in a wireless communication network comprising receiving, at a core network node, a first message indicating that a first user equipment connected via the locally switched call connection has been detected in a target radio access node and transmitting, triggered by the first message, a second message requesting a status change of the locally switched call connection to a second user equipment, such that a user plane data path from the first user equipment to the second user equipment is switched to a core network path. Moreover, the method is implemented in a network node, while the method steps can be executed by means of a computer program product comprising instruction sets performing each method step.

摘要: A device type-dependent approach to access control is used to independently control network access by machine-type communication (MTC) and non-MTC devices. A plurality of access classes are defined for each device type. The base station selectively controls access to the network by each device type by sending an access control mask for each defined device type to the wireless terminals within the network.

摘要: There is provided an information acquisition method to be executed by a mobile station, connected to a first radio access network of a first radio access technology, to perform acquisition of an information set related to a second radio access network of a second, different radio access technology for enabling mobility to the second radio access network. Basically, the method comprises receiving (S1) message instances, wherein a set of the message instances includes the information set for enabling mobility to the second radio access network. The method further comprises investigating (S2) the message instances to find counter information in a message instance indicating the number of message instances the mobile station must acquire to assemble the information set. The method also comprises identifying (S3), in relation to the message instance in which the counter information is found, the set of message instances that includes the information set based on the counter information. The method then comprises collecting (S4) the information set from the identified set of message instances.

摘要: The transmission of a warning message to a mobile terminal in a mobile communication network is triggered by an emergency event. The mobile terminal is first made aware of the need to receive a warning message by reception of an emergency event notification. The warning message is divided into a plurality of message segments. Each segment is transmitted in a separate paging message over a paging channel to mobile terminals in an idle mode. Information is added to each message segment to enable the mobile terminal to discriminate between segments belonging to different warning messages.

摘要: System information transmitted from a wireless network is enhanced to contain additional information that indicates the relative priority between neighboring cells or frequencies in multiple Radio-Access Technologies, such as GERAN, UTRAN and E-UTRAN. In an example method implemented in a mobile station, a system information message of a first type transmitted by a base station is read. The mobile station determine whether one or more RAT priority bits are present in the system information message, wherein the presence or absence of the one or more RAT priority bits indicates whether additional ones of a plurality of available system information messages of the first type must be read before inter-RAT cell reselection may begin. If RAT priority bits are present, the mobile station selectively initiates inter-RAT cell reselection based on the one or more RAT priority bits.
