摘要： Mechanism for withdrawing and winding yarn from spinning units, said mechanism having a novel combination of elements including a self-threading yarn guide. The mechanism includes in that order a pair of rollers for withdrawing yarn from the outlet of the spinning unit, a self-threading guide, a tension compensator, and a means for winding a bobbin including a yarn traverse and laying mechanism. The configuration and placement of the self-threading guide are such that after breakage or depletion of the yarn, yarn delivery may be resumed with yarn traveling from the outlet of the spinning unit past the self-threading guide to the yarn traverse, without passing between the yarn withdrawing rollers. Continued yarn traverse and take-up by the bobbin automatically threads the yarn through the self-threading guide and introduces it between the yarn withdrawing rollers.

摘要： An open end spinning machine including a yarn winding apparatus having a driven rotatable drum, a bobbin mounting frame movable toward and away from the drum so that the bobbin may be selectively driven and undriven. In accordance with the invention there is provided means, shown as hand operated, for raising the bobbin from the drum, and means for adjustably retaining the frame and bobbin in elevated position, preferably with the surface of the bobbin spaced only a small distance above the peripheral surface of the drum. Means, here shown as foot operated, is provided for releasing the frame, when desired, whereby it is lowered so that the bobbin again rest upon and is driven by the drum.

摘要： Apparatus for the continuous spinning of textile fibers by the open end spinning method, particularly by means of a spinning chamber operating under pressure. The separate spinning units of the apparatus are driven by a common drive from which they are separately disengageable. The spinning chamber of each spinning unit is mounted in a stationary body on the machine frame; the separating and feeding mechanisms of each spinning unit are mounted in a body which is generally movable away from the spinning chamber, whereby to improve the ease with which the spinning units may be attended and maintained.

摘要： A mechanical checking device for controlling the operation of a spinning unit for manufacturing yarn. The checking device includes a feeler which is freely movable from a first position in which it engages the yarn being pulled under tension from the spinning unit to a second position when such yarn breaks. Fibrous material is fed into the spinning unit by a driven roller, there being a controllable clutch interposed between such roller and a driving means. The clutch remains engaged when the feeler is in its first position; when the yarn breaks, however, the feeler acts mechanically effectively to disengage the clutch and to stop the feeding of fibrous material into the spinning unit.
