    摘要: Providing interoperability on a voice communication network by detecting incompatible bit packing payload formats of ADPCM encoded voice data signals in an encoder/decoder. A mismatch of bit packing formats between little endian format and big endian format is determined by detecting the occurrence of ADPCM code words of interest in the decoded voice data stream out of the encoder/decoder. The invention may be applied to an ITU G.726 encoder/decoder.

    摘要: A method of initializing an ITU Recommendation G.729 Annex B voice activity detection (VAD) device is disclosed, having the steps of (1) extracting a set of parameters from a signal that characterize the signal; (2) calculating an energy measure of the signal from the set of parameters; (3) comparing the energy measure with a reference value; (4) determining an initial value for an average of a noise characteristic of the signal; and (5) counting the number of times the energy measure equals or exceeds the reference level.Also disclosed is a method of converging an ITU Recommendation G.729 Annex B voice activity detection (VAD) device, having the steps of: (1) determining a noise identification threshold value; (2) comparing a number of energy measures of a signal to the noise threshold value; (3) determining a first value representing an average of the number of energy measures, when the energy measure is less than the noise threshold, wherein only the energy measures of the number of energy measures having values less than the noise threshold value are used to determine the first value; (4) determining a second value representing an average of the number of energy measures; and (5) substituting the first value for the second value when a specific event occurs, indicating the divergence of the two values.

    摘要: A photopolymerizable system is provided as a latex system that is an oil-in-water polymer emulsion including particulates of water-insoluble polymers in combination with a water-soluble or water-dispersible, light-sensitive polymer having multiple light-sensitive moieties. Prior to coating onto a substrate, the system is a three-phase precursor emulsion of the emulsion particulates, the water phase, and the light-sensitive polymer. After coating, the bulk of the water phase is evaporated off, leaving a two-phase system of the emulsion particulates surrounded by the light-sensitive polymer. When selected areas are subjected to actinic radiation, a water-insoluble matrix is formed, the matrix containing cross-linked light-sensitive polymer having dispersed therethrough and/or included therein the water-insoluble polymer particulates, thus forming oleophilic image areas. Those portions of the system that were not subjected to actinic radiation are then readily washed from the coated item to form the hydrophilic, non-image areas.

    摘要: A composition is provided which cleans, conditions, removes scratches, and finishes lithographic plates, the composition being an emulsion of an aqueous phase in an oil phase, the oil phase including a highly penetrating solvent such as mineral spirits, an oleophilic acid, and an emulsifying surfactant such as a non-ionic benzene sulfonate, while the aqueous phase includes a hydrophilic synthetic desensitizer such as a modified polyacrylamide, a gum desensitizer, a desensitizing agent such as phosphoric acid or derivatives thereof, a nitrate salt, and water. These compositions perform as plate cleaners, conditioners and scratch removers when put to use in the press room, and also are typically suitable for use as finishers for exposed and developed plates within the plate making room.

    摘要: A stabilizer, applied either as a coating over the sub-base layer of a presensitized planographic plate or blended into the sensitizer layer thereof, prevents degradation of the sensitizer enabling such plates to be stored over prolonged periods of time without loss of image quality or printing performance. The stabilizer is an aryl sulfonic acid or derivative thereof and, preferably, a haloaryl sulfonic acid or alkali metal salt thereof. In a particularly preferred presensitized plate, a p-chlorobenzene sulfonic acid coating is directly applied to a silicated anodized aluminum plate base and forms a separate layer interposed between the silicate sub-base and a water soluble diazo resin sensitizer layer.
