Abstract:
A print medium for use in a mobile device having a printer, the print medium comprising: a laminar substrate defining first and second opposite faces; first coded data in a first data format disposed in a first data region on the laminar substrate, the first coded data encoding first information; and at least one orientation indicator indicative of an orientation of the print medium.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for determining the gas flow rate of a gas-liquid mixture which has a gas volume fraction (GVF) of at least 85% and which is conveyed along a conduit. The conduit is fitted with a differential pressure flow meter and a fluid densitometer. The method comprises: measuring the pressure difference across the differential pressure flow meter and measuring the density of the mixture using the densitometer; estimating the GVF of the mixture from the measured density; and calculating the gas flow rate from the measured pressure difference and measured is used in the calculation to correct the gas flow rate for the high GVF value of the mixture.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of registering image data for a series of images acquired over a period of time. The images may be acquired from a medical imaging device, such as an MRI scanner. The method allows image-by-image registration to a partially compressed dataset in which motion artifacts are suppressed in a series of target images generated to resemble the original dynamic data. The registration process is refined with each iteration of the process. The method uses Principal Component Analysis which allows accurate registration to be performed without the need to make any assumptions about pharmacokinetic model parameters, which not only avoids the problems of accurate model-fitting but permits the use of much larger target areas of the dataset.
Abstract:
An exhaust gas recirculation valve is configured as a butterfly valve and includes a body with a generally uniform diameter bore therethrough. A generally circular plate is mounted within the bore and is rotatable between a first open position and a second closed position. The generally circular plate is dimensioned to provide a enlarged gap between an outer edge of the generally circular plate and the bore when at the second closed position.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for reducing the effects of motion of a subject during image acquisition is presented. The method is particularly suitable for correcting the motion during magnetic resonance imaging. The method involves comparing an image with a reference image in the spatial frequency domain to determine the extent of any rotational and/or translational motion and then apply an appropriate correction. Any motion is modeled by comparison with the reference image but the corrected image is produced using information from the corrupted image alone.

A mobile telecommunications device comprising: a printhead for printing a sheet of media substrate, the sheet of media substrate having coded data on at least part of its surface; a media feed assembly for feeding the sheet of media substrate along a feed path past the printhead; a print engine controller for operatively controlling the printhead; and a dual sensor facility for reading the coded data before, as well as after, it has past the printhead.
Abstract:
A print medium configured to be printed on by a mobile device in a print direction, the print medium comprising a laminar substrate defining first and second opposite faces, the laminar substrate comprising a first portion to be printed on by the mobile device, and a second portion attached to the second portion by a relatively weak region in the substrate, the second portion being detachable from the first portion.
Abstract:
A mobile device for printing onto a print medium in a print direction, the print medium including first coded data that encodes first information, mobile device comprising: a first sensor for sensing the first coded data; processing means for decoding the coded data and extracting at least the first information; and a printhead for printing onto the print medium, wherein the printhead is controlled to print onto the print medium at least partially on the basis of the extracted first information, and printing commences prior to all of the first information being extracted.
Abstract:
A print medium for use with a mobile device having a printer, the print medium comprising: a substrate defining first and second opposite faces; and an orientation indicator disposed on at least one of the first and second faces, the orientation indicator being indicative of at least one orientation of the print medium, thereby enabling the mobile device to determine the print medium's orientation prior to printing thereon.
