Abstract:
A floating water mat reel that has a plurality of plates mounted to an axle. A floating water mat is selectively connected to the plates. A crank, connected to the axle is used to rotate the plates so that the mat wraps around the plate.
Abstract:
A communication connector including a connector housing configured to hold at least one of optical fibers or electrical contacts. The connector housing has an engagement face that is configured to interface with a mating connector. The communication connector also includes a movable member that is held by the connector housing and that includes a magnetic material. The movable member is permitted to move toward and engage the mating connector when the movable member is magnetically drawn toward the mating connector.
Abstract:
A portable device for attaching a connector to an optical fiber, the optical fiber having an end, the device comprising means for receiving the optical fiber at the end of the optical fiber; and a connector station for autonomously attaching the connector to the optical fiber.
Abstract:
A method for matching patients in a list of patients includes uses a computing device to compare a first medical record to a second medical record using fuzzy logic. When the first medical record matches the second medical record based on the comparison using fuzzy logic, the first medical record is merged with the second medical record.
Abstract:
A method of terminating a fiber in a connector, the method comprising: (a) securing a stripped fiber to a device; (b) while the fiber is secured to the device, cleaving the fiber to produce a cleaved fiber; (c) securing a connector having a stub to the device; (d) while the connector and the fiber are secured to the device, inserting the cleaved fiber into the connector such that the cleaved fiber mates with the stub; (e) and securing the fiber to the connector.
Abstract:
The invention is a protective enclosure that can be adapted for use with different types of connectors, including LC type fiber optic connectors. The protective enclosure includes a plug portion and an adapter portion. The plug portion includes a plug housing having an internal longitudinal bore adapted to accept a plug connector of a connector type larger than an LC adapter, but includes a clip to which one or two LC plug connectors can be fixedly mounted that can optionally fixedly clip into the internal bore of the housing so that an LC connector can be fixedly mounted within the housing. The adapter portion includes an adapter housing having an internal longitudinal bore adapted to accept an adapter connector of a connector type larger than an LC adapter, but including an optional sleeve that can fixedly snap into the internal bore of the adapter housing and within which an LC adapter connector can be fixedly mounted.
Abstract:
A wheel assembly is provided, particularly for use with a vehicle, for example a scooter or a bicycle and the like, for operation in both eccentric and concentric modes. The wheel rim of the assembly rotatably and concentrically supports a wheel hub thereon. An offset axle is supported on the wheel hub radially spaced from the central axis of the wheel for rotation with the wheel hub relative to the wheel rim about the central axis. The offset axle rotatably connects to the frame of the vehicle. A locking mechanism selectively engages the wheel hub for rotation with the wheel rim in the eccentric mode, while the rim rotates freely about the central axis relative to the rim in the concentric mode. In this arrangement, any variety of simple clutch mechanism between the hub and the rim is effective for converting between the eccentric and concentric modes of operation.
Abstract:
A method of assembling an optical fiber assembly comprising the steps of: (a) providing a ferrule sub-assembly comprising a ferrule having a front end and a fiber secured therein and a positioning member; (b) positioning the ferrule sub-assembly in a housing adapted to receive the positioning member in a plurality of predetermined radial positions; (c) preparing the front end such that the fiber is suitable for optical coupling with a mating device; (d) rotating the ferrule sub-assembly to at least a portion of the plurality of predetermined radial positions within the housing while measuring the power loss associated with each radial position to determine the optimal radial position; and (e) optionally polishing the end of the ferrule into the desired configuration after the optimum radial position is determined.
Abstract:
An equipment tray for simplified insertion and removal of electronic equipment to a rack is described. The electronics equipment can be horizontally or vertically mounted. The tray has a first region in which electronics equipment is releasably secured and a second region that provides cable management and exhaust airflow control.
Abstract:
A pin keeper for use in a transition between a multiple fiber ferrule holding at least two fibers and having a fiber to fiber spacing substantially equal to a first lateral dimension and a fiber optic body having a fiber to fiber spacing substantially equal to a second lateral dimension which is different from said first lateral dimension. The pin keeper is disposed between the ferrule and the fiber optic body. The fibers pass through the pin keeper, which splays the fibers from the first lateral dimension to the second lateral dimension.
