摘要: A hybrid switch assembly is provided for a vacuum switch, such as for example a vacuum interrupter. The vacuum interrupter includes a vacuum envelope, a fixed contact assembly partially within the vacuum envelope, and a movable contact assembly partially within the vacuum envelope and movable between a closed position in electrical contact with the fixed contact assembly and an open position spaced apart from the fixed contact assembly. The hybrid switch assembly includes at least one radial magnetic field generating mechanism, such as for example a spiral contact or cup member, and a number of axial magnetic field generating mechanisms each comprising a ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic member, such as for example, a horseshoe plate assembly. Each axial magnetic field generating mechanism is disposed within the vacuum envelope proximate a corresponding radial magnetic field generating mechanism.

摘要: A method of the invention is for operating a media feed motor of a printer to perform a media feed move of a predetermined distance and includes steps a) through c). Step a) includes choosing a position-error scale factor for a media feed move that is within a range of distances. Step b) includes calculating a media-feed-motor drive signal which includes a position error contribution substantially equal to the product of the position-error scale factor and the difference between a desired final media position at the end of a media feed move and the actual media position. Step c) includes modifying the position error contribution in step b) to reduce its effect when the predetermined distance is greater than the maximum distance within the range but not when the predetermined distance is less than the maximum distance within the range.

摘要: An ink jet printing apparatus forms a printed image on a print medium based on image data. The apparatus includes an ink jet print head having ink ejection nozzles in a nozzle array. Ink is ejected from the nozzles and onto the print medium as the print head scans across the print medium in a scan direction, thereby forming the image on the print medium. The nozzle array on the print head includes a first substantially columnar array of nozzles aligned with a print medium advance direction which is perpendicular to the scan direction. The first array has a first upper subarray pair that includes a first upper left and a first upper right subarray of nozzles. The first upper left and a first upper right subarrays each include a substantially linear arrangement of n number of nozzles having equal nozzle-to-nozzle spacings. The nozzle-to-nozzle spacing in the first upper right subarray is equivalent to the nozzle-to-nozzle spacing in the first upper left subarray. The first upper right subarray is offset from the first upper left subarray in the scan direction by a first horizontal spacing, and is offset in the print medium advance direction by one-half of the nozzle-to-nozzle spacing. The nozzle array also includes a second substantially columnar array of nozzles aligned with the print medium advance direction. The second array is offset from the first array in the scan direction by a second horizontal spacing, and is offset in the print medium advance direction by one-fourth of the nozzle-to-nozzle spacing. The second columnar array has a second upper subarray pair that includes a second upper left and a second upper right subarray. The second upper left and second upper right subarrays each include a substantially linear arrangement of n number of nozzles having equal nozzle-to-nozzle spacings. The second upper right subarray is offset from the second upper left subarray in the scan direction by the first horizontal spacing and in the print medium advance direction by one-half of the nozzle-to-nozzle spacing.

摘要: A system and method for controlling a stepper motor wherein the amount of memory space needed to store a phase table is minimized. The stepper motor controller comprises a memory sized to store data representing a plurality of states for current outputs to be supplied to a first winding of a stepper motor and from which are derived current outputs for the first winding and a second winding of the stepper motor. A finite state machine is coupled to the memory. The finite state machine comprises a first address register that stores an address for data in the memory for a present state of the first winding and a second register that stores an address for data in the memory for a present state of the second winding. When the finite state machine receives as input a step control or command signal, it reads a bit pattern from the memory at an address corresponding to the contents of the first address register and derives from the retrieved bit pattern current control output for the first winding, and reads a bit pattern from the memory at an address corresponding to the contents of the second register which is equal to the contents of the first address register plus an offset value and derives from the retrieved bit pattern current control output for the second winding.

摘要: An assembly and associated method are provided for use with the stationary and moveable contact sub-assembly portions of a vacuum interrupter. This assembly employs a groove machined circumferentially into an electrode of the sub-assembly in conjunction with a retaining ring apparatus having a first portion inserted into the groove. A second portion of the retaining ring provides stable structural support to components stacked onto the retaining ring apparatus. The components are clamped together and brazing material is placed across junctions between and among the individual vacuum interrupter components. Methods for constructing a vacuum interrupter sub-assembly in conjunction with brazing processes are also disclosed.
