A D-loop web belt gripper to releasably grip a web belt is disclosed. The D-loop web belt gripper includes a frame, a web belt gripping component, and a web belt actuating component. The web belt gripping component is a wedge having a plurality of web belt gripping teeth spatially biased away from a base member of the frame. The web belt actuating components is a bail having a lever arm, a pair of guide walls pivotally adjoined to a pair of guide walls of the frame, and a pair of drivers abutting the wedge. A first portion of a web belt is disposable between the web belt gripping teeth and the base member of the frame, and a second portion of the web belt is arcuately disposable upon the lever arm to form an arcuation in the second portion of the web belt. A forcible unbending of the arcuation in the second portion of the web belt can pivot the bail via the lever arm causing the drivers of the bail to displace the web belt gripping teeth of the wedge in the direction of the base member of the frame.

A blast mitigation seat for a land vehicle may include an occupant seat, at least one retraction device mounted to the seat, a first set of webs connected between the seat and a ceiling and/or a wall of the land vehicle, a second set of webs connected between the at least one retraction device and the ceiling and/or the wall of the land vehicle, and a third set of webs connected between the seat and the vehicle floor. The seat is suspended in the land vehicle by the first and third sets of webs. The first set of webs absorbs energy resulting from detonation of an explosive device beneath the floor of the land vehicle that forces the land vehicle from the ground into the air, and the second set of webs absorbs energy resulting from subsequent impact of the land vehicle with the ground.

A sleeper bunk restraining system includes a sleeper bunk configured to be carried by a vehicle and having a top surfaced defining a length upon which an occupant may rest. The bunk includes a stationary portion and a moveable portion defined along the length, and the moveable portion is movable toward the stationary portion to form an occupant restraining barrier. A restraining member may be included and is configured for releasable connection to the vehicle such that the restraining member restrains movement of the movable portion of the bunk relative to the stationary portion of the bunk to thereby maintain the occupant restraining barrier in an occupant restraining position.
