摘要： Disclosed are apparatuses and methods for stabilizing portions of a subterranean formation and controlling the production of water from those subterranean formations. In one aspect, a method of treating a plurality of discrete portions of a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore, the method comprising the steps of: (a) moving a treatment tool through the wellbore on work tubing to a desired subterranean location, wherein the treatment tool comprises: (i) a fluidic oscillator; and (ii) a lower packer positioned below the fluidic oscillator; (b) expanding the cross-section of the lower packer to engage the wellbore, thereby isolating a portion of the wellbore from another portion below the lower packer; (c) injecting a consolidation fluid through the tubing and through the fluidic oscillator into the isolated portion of the wellbore; (d) reducing the cross-section of the lower packer, thereby disengaging the tool from the wellbore.

摘要： The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for reverse circulation cementing a casing in an open-hole wellbore. The apparatus includes a surface pack-off device, which has a housing defined by an upper section and lower section. A load bearing plate is secured to the housing between the upper and lower sections. The load plate and lower section of the housing cooperate to prevent sloughing of the earth at the surface of the wellbore via a section of casing string. The surface pack-off device also includes a casing hanger, which couples to the casing in the wellbore. Fluid inlets allow the cement to be pumped into the wellbore in the annulus formed between the casing and wellbore sidewall. The method includes the steps of installing the surface pack-off device and operation on reverse circulation of the cement down the annulus.

摘要： A removable surface pack-off device adapted for use in reverse cementing applications is provided. The device includes a housing adapted to be mounted between the ends of an inner casing and an outer casing at or near the surface of a well and at least one fluid passage disposed within the housing, which is adapted to pass fluid, such as cement, from a location outside of the well into an annulus formed between the inner and outer casings. It also includes a first pressure-activated seal disposed between the inner casing and the housing and a second pressure-activated seal disposed between the outer casing and the housing. The device further includes an attachment assembly, which enables the device to be easily removed from the well.

摘要： An embodiment of a downhole tool for use with a workstring in a wellbore includes a first section, a second section, and a coupling mechanism adapted such that in a first configuration the coupling mechanism couples the first section to the second section. In a second configuration, the coupling mechanism does not couple the first section to the second section. Also disclosed is a method for creating a plug in a wellbore, the method comprising: injecting a slurry into the workstring to form a plug in the wellbore, positioning a flow preventing mechanism into the workstring to prevent fluid flow from exiting the workstring, inducing a coupling mechanism to uncouple a portion of the workstring such that the portion remains with the slurry to create the plug in the wellbore, and removing the first section from the wellbore.

摘要： Improved well casing fill apparatus and methods for filling a casing string with well bore fluid while running the string into a well bore and then cementing the casing in the well bore are provided. A well casing fill apparatus of this invention is basically comprised of a tubular housing having a well bore fluid fill port extending through a wall thereof and a closing sleeve slidably disposed in the tubular housing between an upper open position whereby the fill port is uncovered to a lower closed position whereby the closing sleeve covers the fill port. The closing sleeve includes a cementing plug landing seat thereon for receiving a cementing plug and slidably moving the closing sleeve to the closed position.

摘要： The present invention relates to tools and methods for stabilizing incompetent or otherwise unstable subterranean zones or formations penetrated by a well bore during drilling. The methods basically comprise drilling the well bore through an unstable subterranean zone or formation when it is encountered, pumping a fluid through a well stabilization tool while moving the tool through the portion of the well bore in the unstable zone or formation whereby fluid jets formed by the well stabilization tool enlarge the diameter of the well bore by fluid jet erosion, pumping a hardenable cementitious material through the well stabilization tool while moving the tool through the enlarged portion of the well bore whereby the enlarged portion is filled with the hardenable cementitious material, allowing the cementitious material to harden and then drilling the well bore through the hardened cementitious material.

摘要： A connector which joins two opposing sections of coil tubing or coil tubing to coil tubing tools so as to enable torque applied from one section to be transmitted to the other section is provided. The connector employs varying width and depth grooves into which portions of the sections of coil tubing are deformed so as to create the torque transmitting connection between the connector and sections of coil tubing. Each of the grooves have a narrow width portion and a wide width portion and corresponding shallow depth and deep depth portion. The narrow width portion of one of the grooves is approximately 180° out of phase from the narrow width portion of the other varying width groove.
