摘要: A system includes a bridge plug for isolating a section of a wellbore. The bridge plug includes a cylindrical body and an engagement assembly mounted to an outer diameter of the cylindrical body and selectively extendible between a recessed position and an extended position. The system further includes a plug assembly for regulating flow through the cylindrical body of the bridge plug. The plug assembly includes a housing connected to the cylindrical body of the bridge plug, a frangible component that creates a seal within the housing, and a pin disposed within the housing and designed to fracture the frangible component.

摘要: A composite shaft or rod formed by filament winding. The composite shaft is a solid shaft and the filament winding does not involve a mandrel. A filament core can be suspended between rotatable spindles and the filament materials can be laid directly onto the filament spindle, without any mandrel. A plurality of payout eyes can be used to simultaneously lay filament materials onto the filament core. A bridge plug can be formed with the solid composite shaft located within the bridge plug shell of the bridge plug.

摘要: A method of sealing a subsurface bore comprises: locating a volume of thermite in the bore; locating a volume of alloy in the bore with the thermite; initiating reaction of the thermite to heat the alloy; and bringing the alloy to above the melting point of the alloy whereby the alloy flows and occludes the bore. The thermite may retain its initial form during or following reaction or may partially fluidise. The thermite may react to provide a platform that at least partially occludes the bore. The alloy may flow over a surface of the thermite.

摘要: A plug assembly includes an expandable assembly and a locking ring. The expandable assembly is adapted to be deformed radially over the locking ring. The locking ring has a stopping inner surface. The plug assembly is used with an untethered object, which has an outer surface adapted to couple with the stopping inner surface of the locking ring. The untethered object is also adapted to contact an inner surface of the plug assembly and, using well fluid pressure, to apply forces to the plug assembly. The forces cause the longitudinal movement of the untethered object while contacting the inner surface of the plug assembly until the untethered object contacts the stopping inner surface of the locking ring.

摘要: The present invention provides a chemical heater for use in down-hole operations together with methods for operating such in oil/gas wells. The chemical heater comprises a heater body (1) housing a chemical reaction heat source material (2). The heater body (1) has a leading end that, in use, is deployed down-hole first. The heater is provided with ignition means (3), located in a heating zone proximal to the leading end of the heater body, for triggering a chemical reaction in the chemical reaction heat source material located in the heating zone (4, 4a). The heater is further provided with an actuator (5,6) housed within the heater body (1) and configured to urge the chemical reaction heat source material (2) towards the heating zone so as to generate a focused heating pattern.
