摘要: There are provided apparatuses and methods for increasing the pixel density of a digital display through mechanical actuation. In some embodiments, a display device is described having a processor configured to provide an image for display and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores the image and is configured to map the image to a pixel matrix. A display controller is coupled to the memory and configured to sample portions of the image and to store the portions of the image into planes. Each sampled portion comprises a different set of pixels of the pixel matrix. A display is coupled to the display controller and is configured to display the contents of the sampled planes. In particular, the display controller is configured to sequentially provide the sampled planes to the display for sequential display. At least one actuator is coupled to the display to displace the display for the displaying of the sampled planes, so that pixels of each plane are displayed in a unique location from the pixels of other planes.

The switch is configured to selectively operate the one or more light sources to adjust a brightness of the visual output.

摘要: A method and apparatus for customizing lists of words or phrases predicted as part of a text prediction process for a mobile device is described herein. Accordingly, a memory in the mobile device stores a dictionary comprising a plurality of words, phrases, and other lexical units. The dictionary further stores one or more lexical tags corresponding to the stored lexical units. An application executed by the mobile device determines a search tag associated with a keypress combination input by a user using a keypad. A predictive text algorithm compares the search tag with the stored lexical tags. Based on the tag comparison and the user input, the predictive text algorithm generates a prediction list comprising one or more of the stored lexical units.

摘要: A hand-held instructional device and a method of data selection is disclosed. Indexed information is stored in ROM and retrieved to an LCD display. Retrieval is by pressing keys with associated indicia indicating broad subsets of the information, consulting a displayed index of the subset, and pressing further keys as indicated by the index to display the desired sub-area of the subset. Scrolling is provided to allow multiple screens of information to be reviewed. Both automatic and manual scrolling is used. An embodiment of the invention where the information stored is welding and cutting information is disclosed. A calculator operation is included to allow the user to manipulate the welding and cutting data for the job at hand.
