    摘要： A dynamic wastegate failure detection apparatus for determining wastegate failure levels for individual internal combustion engines is disclosed. The apparatus repeatedly measures and stores intake boost pressures at times when the engine is producing higher boost pressure levels. The apparatus calculates a boost pressure limit value as a function of the stored boost pressures. A wastegate failure is indicated and the engine output power is derated when a boost pressure value exceeds the sum of the boost pressure limit value and a predetermined pressure differential.

    摘要： An apparatus and method for reducing white smoke during start up of a compression ignition engine is disclosed. The apparatus includes an engine cylinder, a fuel injector, an engine speed sensor, and a microprocessor. The microprocessor preferably includes an engine speed controller that governs the engine speed to a desired value. The microprocessor issues a first fueling level corresponding to a difference between an actual engine speed and the desired engine speed signal. The microprocessor quits fueling the engine cylinder then determines a second fueling level. A determination about whether the cylinder is firing is then based on a comparison between the first and the second fueling level.

Methods and systems may control one or more operational systems and may provide and manage varying levels of access to work machines. Methods and systems may react to override attempts in order to provide robust theft protection. One or more control modules embedded in a work machine may be leveraged to perform theft protection services. Methods and systems may activate a first control module to restrict access to a first operational system in a work machine and activate a second control module to restrict access to a second operational system in the work machine. The first control module may detect a substitution of a new control module for the second control module and automatically configure the new control module to restrict access to the second operational system in the work machine.

    摘要： An apparatus is provided for operating an internal combustion engine having an inlet air filter and a plurality of solenoid operated fuel injection units adapted to receive fuel injection signals and responsively inject fuel into associated engine cylinders. The apparatus includes a sensor adapted to sense a level of clogging of the air filter and responsively produce a clogging level signal. An electronic controller is adapted to produce the fuel injection signals as a function of sensed operating parameters and in accordance with a preselected horsepower curve. The controller is further adapted to receive the clogging level signal, compare the clogging level signal to a preselected threshold and limit the maximum engine horsepower in response to the clogging level signal being equal to or greater than the preselected threshold.
