Abstract:
Technologies are described herein for providing validated text-to-speech correction hints from aggregated pronunciation corrections received from text-to-speech applications. A number of pronunciation corrections are received by a Web service. The pronunciation corrections may be provided by users of text-to-speech applications executing on a variety of user computer systems. Each of the plurality of pronunciation corrections includes a specification of a word or phrase and a suggested pronunciation provided by the user. The pronunciation corrections are analyzed to generate validated correction hints, and the validated correction hints are provided back to the text-to-speech applications to be used to correct pronunciation of words and phrases in the text-to-speech applications.
Abstract:
A circuit protection device includes a solid-state resettable switch, a first terminal in electrical communication with a first portion of the switch, the first terminal configured to be connected to a load. A second terminal is placed in electrical communication with a second portion of the switch, the second terminal configured to be connected to a power source. A controller is configured to enable the switch to be opened if an accumulated energy meets or exceeds a preset I2t rating, the accumulated energy based on a current sensed from an electrical point between one of (i) the load and the switch or (ii) the voltage source and the switch.
Abstract:
A system and method for displaying an interactive electronic representation (“IER”) of a conventional static media object, such as an electronic publication containing a digital image, is provided by associating a unique identification tag with a static media object. The unique identification tag is also associated with the IER, which is stored in a computer database. An application program for retrieving the IER embodying aspects of the present invention may receive the unique identification tag and, based upon the unique identification tag, locate and display the corresponding IER. A user of the application program may then interact with the IER by selecting portions of the IER. When a portion of the IER is selected, additional information regarding the selected portion of the IER may be displayed to the user.

Abstract:
Interactive electronic representations of advertising images published in visual media sources enable data about interest in an object or objects appearing in the advertising images to be collected. From comparing against aggregated data from interactions with interactive electronic representations, the effectiveness of displaying an object, such as representing a product or service, in a particular advertising image can be relatively measured.
Abstract:
Several aspects of this disclosure relate to a reusable kit and it method of use for repairing a leak in a gas-filled inflatable object. In one form, the kit may include: a hollow housing with a leading end region and a trailing end region; a plunger with a front end region and a back end region, the front end region having a tubular nose, the front end region being adapted to be received in the leading end region of the hollow housing; a plug having a head portion and a shaft portion extending therefrom, the shaft portion of the plug being adapted to be mounted at least partially in a tubular nose of the front end region of the plunger; a sealing ring that surrounds the plunger proximate the front end region thereof, the sealing ring serving to interface with an inner wall of the hollow housing; and an adhesive provided below an underside of the head portion of the plug.
Abstract:
A device use indicator (16), which is designed to signal a predetermined amount of use of a device as a function of the amount of vibration of the device is provided. The indicator is adapted to be coupled or attached to a device (10). The indicator includes a first disk (18), a second disk (20), and an intermediate layer (22) separating the first disk from the second disk. The first disk retains a chemical therein. In operation, when the device to which the use indicator is attached is used, vibration of the device and the indicator triggers release of the chemical from the first disk. The chemical then travels through the intermediate layer to be received by the second disk. The chemical, when received by the second disk in excess of a predetermined amount, creates a detectable indication. The detectable indication, for example, a color or shade change produced in the second disk, signals a user that the device has been used for a predetermined amount of time as a function of the amount of its vibration.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for connecting two strand ends such as those found on jewelry pieces such as necklaces, chains and bracelets. The method and apparatus involve fastening the two strand ends using a connecting member attached to one strand and a receiving member attached to another strand end, wherein the connecting member may be removably fastened to the receiving member using a predetermined sequence of simple movements and rotations.
