    摘要： Treatment or prevention of oral allergy syndrome, or other allergy-related oral inflammatory processes using a topical preparation of at least one of a mast cell stabilizer and an antihistamine is disclosed. For example, the topical administration of Cromolyn Sodium prior to ingestion of raw fruits and raw vegetables may be used to prevent oral allergy symptoms. The topical administration can be performed by use of a solution, a powder, an aerosol, a tablet, a chewable tablet, a gel, a melting strip, a mouth rinse, a mouth swab, or a piece of candy, and may be combined with carrier molecules and/or mucoadhesive molecules to enhance efficacy.

Also disclosed is a method of attenuating the undesirable incidence of diseases associated with chronic dosing of insulin is provided whereby the oral administration to a patient of insulin along with a suitable delivery agent that facilitates the absorption of insulin from the gastrointestinal tract of the patient in a therapeutically effective amount, for treatment of diabetes.

    摘要： Methods for treating impaired glucose tolerance and early and late stage diabetes in mammals, for prophylactically sparing β-cell function, aiding in preventing β-cell death, preventing the onset of overt diabetes in a mammal with type 2 diabetes, treating the current level of glycemic control dysfunction of a mammal with impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes, comprising orally administering insulin and a delivery agent that facilitates insulin absorption from the gastrointestinal tract at the time of or shortly before mealtime, e.g., within about 10 minutes prior to ingestion of a meal, on a chronic basis. The methods also comprise, in addition to administering a rapid-acting insulin to provide a first insulin peak, administering a slow acting insulin to provide a second insulin peak occurring at a later time but of a longer duration. These methods achieve improved glycemic control without the risks of hypoglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and weight gain and the need for frequent blood glucose monitoring that are normally associated with insulin therapy.

The palm-held device has the shape of a computer mouse, and so is very familiar, which helps with ease-of-use and comfort. Like a computer mouse, the device can be moved easily by gently holding and guiding the mouse with the fingers and the palm of the hand. There are many possible button configurations, such as a single button mouse, the button having a large surface at the front top portion of the mouse, and being pressable by any finger. There can also be a two button mouse, such that the left button actuates the injection, and the right button is the “safety” that allows the left button to actuate the injection. The two buttons can be on the top front of the mouse, or can be on the right and left sides of the mouse.

    摘要： A breast examination system is disclosed that facilitates normalized quantitative comparison of results from multiple examinations performed under differing conditions, such as different viewing angles. The proposed system can operate on a camera-equipped smart-phone, a camera-equipped desk-top computer, or on a dedicated device to perform a guided breast cancer examination, and then store results of the examination in a normalized format that allows effective quantitative comparison to historic results, thereby detecting changes and trends. The results can be stored on the local device, or on a web-based server, providing various data comparison, data management, and data interpretation services in a secure and controlled manner.
