摘要： A recording apparatus with a device for recording information onto a medium, provided with: (i) a first layer irradiated with laser light to record information on a first area; and (ii) a second layer irradiated with laser light through the first layer and having a second area whose edge on an inner circumferential side corresponds to an edge on an outer circumferential side of the first area; and a controlling device for controlling the recording device to pre-record, into an area portion of the first area, other than an area portion having a size corresponding to a tolerance length, which indicates an acceptable range of a relative position shift between an address defined on the predetermined position in the first layer and an address related to the predetermined position in the second layer, with the edge on the outer circumferential side of the first area as a starting point.

摘要： In an information recording medium including at least a first recording layer (L0 layer) capable of recording information and a second recording layer (L1 layer) capable of recording information, an information recording device (300) records information in a predetermined area (12) of the second recording layer by a laser beam which has passed through a transmission area (11) of the first recording layer. The information recording medium (300) includes recording means (302, etc.) for recording the information in the first recording layer or the second recording layer, judgment means for judging whether an unrecorded amount indicating the size of the unrecorded area in the radial direction in the transmission area is smaller than a predetermined amount, and control means used when the unrecorded area is judged to be smaller than the predetermined amount, for controlling the recording means to record information in the predetermined area.

摘要： An information reproducing apparatus (1) is provided with: a detecting device (11) for irradiating an information. recording medium with laser light (LB) and detecting reflected light as a detection signal, the information recording medium including a first recording layer (L0) and a second recording layer (L1); a high pass filter (14) for performing a filtering process on the detected detection signal; and a reproducing device (15, 16) for performing a reproduction process of the filtered detection signal to reproduce the data, the high pass filter attenuates a fluctuation component of the detection signal, caused by a relative eccentricity between the first recording layer and the second recording layer, by a first attenuation amount (34dB) or more.
